Any brand will work.
Make sure you stock up on batteries for it - your cats will go NUTS trying to catch it! Hours of endless fun for you and your friends!I would recommend playing with it at night. It wears the kittens out and they'll sleep better

Any kind will work the fun for the cat is the way you move the light beam so they can chase it. It's so funny. Wiggle it around or go in a slow circle then quickly across the room and up the wall, LOL, drives them crazy!

I had one and my cat loved it it didn't matter which one I used as long as she could chase it.

no special ones, just do not shine them in their eyes. It will eventually blind them.
