Cats - October 2006

I live in a small town, the demand for kittens is sometimes greater than the supply. Right now there are 22 adoptable cats, 1 kitten.
Our shelter services 2 small towns and a large rural community and is a no kill shelter. The no kill policy was adopted by the B.C.S.P.C.A. within the past 10 years, I'm uncertain on the exact year.

Shouldn't our community accept overflow homeless cats from other communities. Our S.P.C.A. is well supported by the community.

My cat vomits about once a week. He seems to drink 1 bowl of water a day and eat about 1/2 to 1 bowl of food a day. A week ago he went under my bed and vomited and then ate it. The vet said that eating it was normal since he had vomited what he just ate and it came out in chuncks. In a 1 1/2 years I have taken my cat to the vet 2 times for this and all the test that they ran said there was nothing wrong with him. I am sick of spending $200.00 each time for them to tell me that there is nothing wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments of what to do?

I am considering to get Revolution to use on my cat, since he has both Fleas and Ear Mites and it has been annoying him and I. I'm curious if Revolution will help to reduce or destory all ear mites and how long will it takes the revolution to work on ear mites ? (speaking of number of hours? )

Lately I've been trying to use cotton balls to clean his ears out and using one or two drops of ear mites drops from pet store and it has been too much work for me.

thanks

I really want to insult her and berate her because she is so beautiful and so much cuter than me and all the guys love her. What is the best way to tell her off?

Okay so my cat is very very very very VERY pregnant. The problem is she still wants to get her groove on. Last night the out of control hussy was rolling around on the floor like a freak in heat begging me to let her out. I let her out and she found a willing partner (very nice cat, shiny coat, lovely manners, very generous with his roadkill) but the problem is she is too big to *ahem* accomodate him, what tips can I give these two lovebirds so that they can make their sweet love? I really want to see it work for these two, so all help is appreciated!

i have a cat and have had her for a few years now. People keep advising me to get rid of her as i have asthma, exzema and hayfever. Is it worth loosing her and having heart break to feel physically better.

I have a 20 year old fixed, male cat who has been urinating outside the litterbox and spraying all over my apartment. I am afraid something is wrong with him, but perhaps it is just old age. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions for me?

I asked how long it would take to drown them
I did it deliberately to get a reaction and boy did I get one

What I want to know now is why did I get more reaction to harming animals than I did to the question on how long I should wait before I started hitting the wife

Do you think that some people have their priorities all screwed up

We've been thinking about getting a second cat, and are wondering what to do. Echo, my 3 year old Siamese cat- girl- I think would get along with any cat, but in the past I've had a boy and girl at the same time. I'm thinking a boy cat may be less threatening to Echo's "space" then another girl cat. What are your thoughts, and what have you experienced in the past?

I don't particularly care for cats, I just like the idea of having some boxes of sh*t scattered around the house.

I just moved into a small house and decided that the kitty litter boxes had to go into the garage. We installed a kitty door between the living room and the garage. We have three cats, they seem scared of it. When they are IN the garage they will enter back into the house, but will not enter the garage from the living room! Also when I tape the "plastic door" up, they will use the door, but I cant leave the door up because of the air conditioning. Any ideas on how to get my kitty's to use their new door? thanks all!
