My two male cats became old enough to get fixed a while ago, and since they both have lived outside all their lives, they would hate to go inside. One of them in particular roams to much... when he is fixed will he stay home more?

my persian kitten is turning 4 months in about a week from now.... i got her from a breeder when she was 3 months old. the breeder said that she is feeding her with IAMS and that i shouldnt alter her cat food for she may not get used to it or even so, have diarrhea from it. They say that dry and wet cat food is just the same... i wanted to give her et cat food for treat but im afraid she mioght have the runs since she hasnt eaten wet cat food, not a single time. Whiskas has both wet and dry varieties, whereas IAMs, in my area doesnt have the wet variety, only the fry one. If my kitten is so used to IAMS and i try giving her whiskas' wet variety cat food, will there be any problems? even if she only eats dry food now, she constantly drinks water which is why i dont worry that much about dehydration..

My male black cat, whom I rescued off the streets and nursed to health, likes to roam across the road. He lives with my grandparents, so I can only prevent him from doing this on weekends when I visit, which is barely effective. Just a few minutes ago, I was outside about ready to visit, and I saw my cat in her yard. Walking over, she said that the cat thought that he lived with her. She told me she feeds him and he sleeps on her porch every night. I know that is not completely true because my grandparents check on him every few hours, and they feed him three times a day! I was actually going to put him on a diet... anyway, she started bragging about how he loved her son and they wanted to bring him in but they can't! What should I do? It is making me furious...

My neighbor's cat has been hanging around outside our house lately. He was eating bugs so I figured my neighbors weren't feeding him, so I did. At first all I had around the house was some cooked pork (I had made a roast and pulled some off and gave it to him). I also gave him a dish with a little milk in the bottom (all I had in the fridge was vitamin D milk). The next day he was back and was still eating bugs so I fed him again thinking he was hungry. I gave him a couple pieces of chicken lunch meat and again, vitaming D milk (lunch meat and milk was all I had on hand still). Finally on the third day I happened to be at walmart so I picked up a few cans of cat food and when I got home I gave him one (it was some sort of chicken liver and chicken hearts mix or something or other). A couple days ago when I was outside playing with him he went over into the mulch and dug a hole and pooped. It was runny and dark yellow. What's wrong? Was it something I gave him or was he sick before?

I have 2 very sweet cats who are strictly indoors. my don't go outside because they don't want to. they're scared to death to even look outdoors. I believe that NO cat should be roaming outside unsupervised (or not on leash). that's just asking for the poor thing to get hurt or even killed!!! cats CAN NOT take care of themselves so therefore should NOT be left outside by themselves! people who think this are SO misinformed! it's just plain ignorance to let your feline roam out unattended!!! they truly don't realize the multiple dangers out there!! who agrees with my post? Thanks!

Our family cat Pookie got hit by a car after a handyman startled it and it ran into traffic. I went out to help and found it on the side of the road, laying there. Its eye had popped the socket and was hanging by some cords below the eye. The people who hit it must have got second thoughts and came back - the wife was hysterical with fright on seeing it, and offered to take it to a vet. The husband said not to bother as there was nothing that they could do as it was dead. Just after he said that the cat made its
last "death" movements....which the wife saw causing her to start wailing. I buried the cat shortly after since Pookie had obviously "gone to heaven".

I'm wondering if there was anything that I could have done to save it. Apart from the popped eye, I didn't see any other obvious trauma (mind you the eye looked HUGE outside the socket)? Maybe it's skull suffered some extreme force ?????

My kitten is now 7 1/2 months. I have followed everyone's suggestions about how to luer her out from hiding and it's worked. She plays with my other kitten, plays with me with toys, and has started roaming the house. The problem is she won't let me get near her. If she sees my hand coming or me coming too close she runs away, not under the bed anymore but just away. She sees me holding and petting the other kitten but it doesn't make much difference to her. She seems happy just being this way.

I know they were going to put her to sleep and wonder if maybe they put her in an isolated area that was scary and she relates that to humans. I was able to hold her at the shelter and thought she was fine then everything changed at home.

She cannot be inticed with treats or anything. She is strickly a dry food eater.

Has anyone had any experiences with this? Has anyone ever had a cat they can't touch?

She's been with me for 6 weeks
