He should be fine at home alone as long as you leave him with plenty of food, fresh litter, and water, also something to snuggle with or a blanket...I leave my kitties at home sometimes. (you can even call and leave messages on the machine so he can hear your voice...)
but please whatever you do...do NOT leave the toilet lid up when you leave because the lid can fall on his head and knock him out and he can drown in the toilet or the hit can kill him. This happened to someone's kitty that I know, so now I am totally paranoid about leaving the lid up on the toilet)

You can leave him in your home if you're only going to be gone for a short time. I've left my cats home alone for as long as 36 hours when I went on an overnight once. Just make sure his litter box is clean, that he has extra food and water, has lots of toys to keep him company. Make sure that there is nothing he can get into that would hurt him, no little places he can get caught and such. He should be fine.
But if you are really not comfortable with leaving him alone (I don't even like to be away from my kitties for a few hours, even though I know they're fine) you might want to look into leaving him with a vet that does boarding. Your sister's friend might be a good choice. You could talk with her and see if she's the type of person you can trust. If you get a good feeling from her and she answers all your questions to your satisfaction, there's no reason you couldn't leave Little JJ with her. But if you feel uneasy in any way or for any reason, no matter how small, go with the boarding with a vet option instead. You'll have more fun at Disneyland if your mind is free from worry.

Since you are only going to be gone for a day, I would leave the kitty at home. He will be more comfortable with familiar surroundings. As the others have said, leave fresh food, water, and litter box. If your kitty is an indoor and outdoor pet, install a cat flap door. If you are unfamiliar with this, it's exactly like it sounds. It's a flap door where the pet can enter and exit and it is installed to a regular entrance/exit door. I left my cats for 2 days. I had water inside and outside. I left PLENTY of food. I did worry because of the length of time I was gone but you are only going to be gone for a day. My cats were just fine. They probably enjoyed the fact that they had the "run" of the house. I think your kitty will be just fine too.

This is one of the glorious things abot cats: just leave him home, inside, alone!
If you do not plan to be gone more than 48 hours or so, he will be FINE (just lonely)!
Leave him with a fresh litterbox, plenty of fresh water, lots of dry cat food, and - GO! :-)) Leave the lid up on the toilet (seriously!), if he spills all his water, he will still be able to drink. Cats have NO objection to drinking from the toilet!
Cats can easily go 24 - 48 hours without food. If you set him up with a good supply before you go, this will not even be an issue!
He'll be happy and healthy when your get back! And - VERY glad to see YOU!
This is (one of the many reasons) why I LOVE cats! :-))
Keep your kitty at home while you are gone for this brief time! MUCH less stressful than the vet's, boarding, or kennels. The cat will be MUCH happier at home, in familiar surroundings!

Depending on how young your kitten is, he should be fine for a day without you. Just put him in a small, safe place with a litterbox, food and water. Maybe a radio. I put my kitty in the bathroom with everything in there kitty proof - close the shower, the toilet lid, no chemicals and nothing he could choke on. They sleep most of the time. Make sure he has a comfy bed too. Don't make too big a deal when you leave him, and he won't expect it to be bad. Maybe practice for a few hours at a time, ahead of the big day. Good luck! P.S. Don't take him to DisneyLand and leave him in your car... Or, how about the people you got him from? They might help you out.

If you don't trust anyone leave him home with the television or radio on. It helped my cat not get lonely. They even have videos of birds and fish that entertain kitties. Just as long as they have food water and a litter box they should be fine. If you have a dog and are orried keep them in different rooms. The above is cheaper than a pet motel by far.

If its just for one day he will be fine to be left alone. I think taking him to the vet or someone elses house would be more traumatic for him than leaving hims home alone.Cats dont make instant cat friends with each other like dogs and puppys do.. so I wouldnt take him over to that house either. Make sure he has plenty of food and water and can get to his litter box, enjoy your day and when you get back, he will be SO happy to see you!

I understand your anxiety but if it's just for one day, i think your kitty should be okay ... i've left my Sassie for a day or two..and she's been fine...just make sure he has food, water, toys and something he can snuggle in (towel maybe?). My fuzz-face likes to lay in a box with a plastic bag in it. As for leaving him with another person who already has kittens, that could be a problem because cats are very territorial, and he could get hurt...good luck hon.

Why don't you just leave JJ for a day @ the vet, they do have boarding. I rather take my pet to be cared for @ my vet than have some person I don't know very well take care of it. I cannot imagine it would be very pricey for just one day to have JJ left @ your vets.

Your regular vet would be best, or if you trust your parents. Do you know anyone personally that has a cat? I hope you have fun, and good luck with JJ!
