sprinkle pepper around where he's chewing, or if you catch him at it, squirt him with a water pistol.

Try spraying the wires with a mixture of water and something spicy, like pepper. Your cat won't like the taste and should eventually stop.

I'm a firm believer in double-sided tape. I put it on anything that I don't want my cats to touch. They hate sticky things. Wrap the wires with it. It's also good to keep them off counters and tables.

my cat did that once. he chewed through my stereo cord. i had just gone out to take the trash out while he had done so (at this time i didn't even know what was going on). when i got back inside my apartment. i went back to my bedroom and could smell a little bit of burnt plastic, and metal. i looked down to my outlet where the stereo was plugged into. i could see that the cord had been chewed in half.
i could then see my cat under my bed, just staring at the cord. when he started to come back out from under my bed, i made a hissing sound, and he jumped, and went back under my bed. i knew he had chewed the cord and got electrocuted.
he was okay, but it was funny.

There is a product called "bitter apple" to help persuade animals to not chew things, ask your local pet shop or vet. It just tastes unpleasant, not harmful to animals.

well if you dont mind the smell of mothballs cats hate it. they will most likely stay away. if you have a spray bottle put justa tab of vinegar in it , he wont like the taste and vinegar is all natural and harmless.

if you go to your pet store they have this stuff called apple spray, and it tastes really bad to animals, just spray it on what ever he's chewing on and it will teach him chewing on that is bad tasting and stop.
