, woudl it be possible to get them used to a puppy ? the reason we want to get a dog is to protect our home, which has been broken into , and we thought maybe if we got a small puppy and got the cats used to him , they wouldnt freak out when the puppy is grown- is that possible ??

Me, my dad, and my sister are moving to a new house away from my dad's OLD evil girlfriend. I am only 12 years old and my dad said that we can get a kitten when we move. He said that we can get one by next Wednesday, which is is a week. But, I have NO clue where to find one. I also would like to find an adorable kitten name. I'm trying to think of female names because I don't want a boy. I was thinking of these names:
Skye
Topaz
Ellie
Tanzie
Baby-I would call her "Baby Girl"
Opal
Can you PLEASE tell me if you like any of these names? Thanx a bunch! I really like Tanzie or Skye.

My cat (meg) has a daughter (bubba). Bubba gave birth to 5 kittens yesterday, because it was her first litter she seemed to be having a little trouble. Meg seemed to sense this and began to clean bubba and the kittens, Bubba didn't seem to mind. Meg had her 3rd litter about 4 months ago...so my question is, is this normal cat behaviour or is Meg going to try and take Bubba's kittens from her.

My cat has recently started aggressively hissing at relatives whom he has not hissed at before.

Should I be concerned that he may have been harrassed/abused by the cleaning ladies my wife and I sometimes use (while we are at work)

We were told they were pet friendly but we don't have any cameras to monitor this for sure.

We did have one incident in late july when a cousin came by with his girlfriend and their child - and he did hiss at the child - who was being over agressive with him - so we repremanded the child and seperated them both.

Could this hissing be a hold over from that.

If so I'm not so concerned but is there a way to help the cat re-adjust to the relatives again?

one is 6 weeks old and one is 8 weeks old, one is a white persian cross siamese the other is a tabby. they are both so adorable and because they were together in the pen for a while before we bought them they have settled in together really well. we placed them in the bathroom with there milk and some dry cat biscuits and a little cat cave we bought for them. then we shut the door and let them alone for a little while. we heard a couple of noises so i went in and checked on them and the cat cave was moved from where i had put it and there was little wet paw prints from the milk bowl to the middle of the floor where Pippi (tabby cat) was sitting. they weren't vacinated before we got them they were wormed. so instead of gettin them for 120 each we got them for 60 each. when we tried to choose which CAT we wanted we couldn't decided between the two we liked... so we got them both. Snowy (persian) is white and has little peachy marks on his ears and tail and Pippi (tabby cat) is all sorts.

I have a black short haired kitten, and i'm not sure what to name him. Most people with black animals name them midnight or something like that, i think I like whitey so far. Any Ideas?

How did the cat find out it liked fish in the first place? Okay - I know some cats like water but that is rare. You can't tell me there was one water-loving cat who caught fish and fed the rest of the cats and that's how they got so fond of fish eatin!

So - how come they like to eat fish but hate water?

I have a sort of problem, well annoyance with my 5 month old kitten. She will ONLY drink out of the bathroom sink. She pretty much makes my mother or I turn it on while where in the bathroom and she'll stand ther for like 5min drinking it. When either of us go in there, weather shes in a deep sleep at the time or beating up on one of her sisters, she stop whatever shes doing, race into the bathroom and start crying and pacing, till I pick her up and turn on the water for her.

I have no problem with this at all, except when the door is closed and she starts to like rip up the carpeting till I let her in. This is the only time she ever rips at anything.

I know that she wants the cold water but I dont understand why this is the only place she'll drink now, it started about a month ago. We have 3 cats and two bowls of water that we change about twice a day so It's not like there is not enough.

Dont get me wrong it is super cute when shes standing in the sink and drinking water.
