I think if the cat misses you when you are gone, it is sign cat is at least attached. Hard to say if it's love or totally self-serving need, though. You would have to leave cat with someone else to know if he misses you. Cats are strange creatures, but I always thought mine loved me. It could be I just loved him, and he saw me as handy chump with the food. Just enjoy him I guess, and don't try to read kitty minds.

The cat loves you when he can't bear to let you out of his sight... wants to be wherever it is you are... sits in your lap... squatts by your computer and sloooowwwly winks at you with both eyes (this is the cat's way of saying "I love you"). When you cat does that (slowly closes and opens his eyes at you), be sure to do the same to him and he will understand that you love him too!.

Cats show love with body language, she will rub against you, purr and meow, she may try getting into your lap when you are sitting. It all depends on the cats personality, some just aren't real affectionate. Cats are very independent and although they know you are their master and love you for it, they may still appear distant.
I am sure your little darling loves you and show it in her own way.

I believe that cats have a distinct way of showing their affection. When a
cat rubs you with the side of his/her mouth they release a scented saliva
which marks you as belonging to them. This is a very caveman way of
saying I love you.

you can tell a cat loves you when it comes up and purrs or makes biscuts on you. or hey if they just want to be around you is a good sign that they love you.

I guess if they'd want to be near you, and have you pet them and rub their bellies.
