Me, my dad, and my sister are moving to a new house away from my dad's OLD evil girlfriend. I am only 12 years old and my dad said that we can get a kitten when we move. He said that we can get one by next Wednesday, which is is a week. But, I have NO clue where to find one. I also would like to find an adorable kitten name. I'm trying to think of female names because I don't want a boy. I was thinking of these names:
Skye
Topaz
Ellie
Tanzie
Baby-I would call her "Baby Girl"
Opal
Can you PLEASE tell me if you like any of these names? Thanx a bunch! I really like Tanzie or Skye.

Light grey coat with blue eyes? Sounds like a "Russian Blue" cat to me. They are a very friendly and affectionate race. You will love it!
Opal would be a nice name, if it is a female, or Topaz for a male.
I hope you find one.

Hi, hon. You should go to your local animal shelter to find your new friend. I would always do that before going to a petshop because by going to the shelter you'd be saving an animal's life. You gain a friend AND you feel good about it.

As far as what breed you're looking for? I'm not sure. There's something called a russian blue but I don't think you can just walk into a shelter and tell them you want a paricular breed of cat. Just walk in there with an open mind and heart and find one that will make you happy or let him/her find you :)

I will say, number 1, that I think males are less aggressive than the females; calicos are particularly aggressive. So I'd stay away from female calicos. I had one (I didn't know these things ahead of time) and tho I loved her she was a nightmare. Also let the name come to you when you've chosen.

Have fun.

you can try the local pet stores for kittens but i think the breed you looking for is more of a siamese cat or even a persian cat coz both can have blue eyes but if you dont want a ca that could molt all over the place go for the siamese or other short haired cats. i like the name skye. we recently got a husky breed puppy and my sis named it sky coz its right is the palest blue that can be seen from far and its left is more dark blue and green/or brown not sure doesnt keep still long enough to see.

well good luck

It's hard to find exactly what you want without spending big bucks! I have a Russian Blue mix. She is solid gray (with 3 barely noticeable rings around the end of her tail). She doesn't have blue eyes, though. A Russian Blue's eyes are normally emerald green. Mine has golden eyes. I really wish I had a picture of her to show you, but here is one that look A LOT like her: http://www.petnet.com.au/cat/C115.jpg

BTW, I love the name Skye. Very cute! Good luck, and come on here and ask us any question!

I like Tanzie. That's a cute name. My cousin has a grey cat with blue eyes and her name is Luna. She found her at the SPCA. Try there. They have a lot of kitties who need a good home.

Good luck.

Very cute names by the way! I really like Skye if she is going to have blue eyes. I think the type of cat you are talking about is a siamese. I have a siamese mix and he has blue eyes.
