They are vermin but i would stop if anyone had seen me or if i had the kids in the car, otherwise the less cats the better . They are horrible creatures that poo all over my childrens garden toys and even come in to my home when im unaware.Cat owners should be made to keep them on a lead when outdoors and fined when their cat poos on other peoples property.

Don't understand how people could just drive on!! That's evil, it might be horrible but how could you leave a cat suffering by the roadside? Even if it was killed out right, imagine the owners distress, the poor cat is a member of the family, what if a child were to see it? They would be so upset. Have a heart, you may consider cats to be vermin but to many they are very special and loved.

cats aren't vermin, irresponsible people are to blame for the huge population of feral cats, if people had their cats spayed or neutered it would help towards solving this problem. Or if they actually thought about what owning a pet involves half of them would not get pets in the first place, and this would cut down the number of abandoned cats. A cat is a living creature, and anyone that did not stop is a sick individual.

Of cause I would stop and help it and I'd also try to find out if anyone in the road knows who's cat it is as I've had a cat run over and it took me two nail biting weeks to find out what had happend to her.

If you didn't stop to at least get it out of the road that's sorry because unlike many dogs you can't keep a cat on a leash and they like to roam so getting in the road is not uncommon. So like Cazza said it is somebodies pet, and like lisaandmax said (except the part about being pathetic and offensive and selfish, uncaring prats) you CAN tell a lot about people by the way they are with animals...Nobody said you had to like them but considering them vermin and enjoying killing them is down right sorry...Those kind of people are vermin themselves and deserve a punch in the mouth...

If it had a collar yes, cos someone out there loves it.
If it was alive still i would try to help it, no living thing deserves to suffer.

If it didnt have a collar (presuming its a wild/feral cat) and it was obevously dead i would keep on driving for sure, this world could do with a few less cats.

Absolutely! Of course, I would try to not run over anything, which I think nearly everyone does, except you. I take it you're going to come back in your next life as a feeder mouse? Have fun in the snake's digestive tract.

I had an incident last year whilst travelling through Knowsley safari park, where I ran over a cat. I did a runner, but was caught by staff. I stated the highway codes approach that emergency braking should only take place when safe to do so and that other vehicles would not be in dangered, i.e.if there was a car behind you should run the animal over. At the subsiquent court case the judge did not execpt that the 5mph traveling speed would have endangered other road users, and that the 5mph speed that I drove over the cat was particularly sick. (bloody Lion should not have been lying). anyway prision food is much better than you think

If the cat is killed on contact or seriously injured I would stop. As far as chasing an injured cat into the woods or where ever it runs off to, that answer would be no
