Are you sure it's clean ?
Because cats are very clean and won't go in a litter box that smells !
I know you said it was clean , but do you rinse the box sometimes ?
Rinse it with bleach water , 1/4 bleach and 3/4 water .
Let is dry outside .
The smell will be gone .
When you see your cat peeing on the bed or sofa , spray her with water , every time you see her do that .
(Spray bottle for plants )
It will not harm your cat , but she will remember it very well .
She won't do it again

If HE smells another male, human or animal, on the blanket or furniture he will pee to mark his spot. Especailly if it is a new person who has entered kitty's space! You have to tell him no in a firm voice and put them in the litter box every time.It is hard sometimes becaue they are not doing it because they need to pee, just marking their territory. There are products you can buy that are supposed to help. I have heard that you can spray lemon where you do not want them to pee if they are concentrating on going somewhere other than the box. A friend never had trouble with her's until the teenage daughterstarted having boyfriend's in her bedroom. The cat started marking the bed and floor because he did not want another male in his space! They had to keep her door closed so he couldn't get in there! Best wishes!

Call your veterinarian right away. This could be a sign that your cat has an infection or another possible urinary probelm going on. Some urinary problems can become life threatening in cats. Don't ignore your cat, He is trying to tell you something!

u havent moved to a new house by any chance? cats do that when in stress....
you could get cat pheromones.....it comes in this bottle that you can plug into electrical socket....you know like the air fresheners....that should relax your cat and make him more at ease...Ask your vet about this....
also try different brands of cat litter.....sometimes cats dont like a certain type and will refuse to use it and would rather pee anywhere else....annoying or what??
my cat went through similar phase when we moved to our new house....we had to chuck so many things because of him....including my mattress....lol.....but he is ok now....

If you don't hit him, he won't learn. Now good luck getting that god-awful smell out.
I'm assuming it is a "he" - is he neutured? Is he marking his territory? He won't stop unless he has to (i.e., pain). One thing I found is that the older the cat is, the more he pees on my clothes, the furniture, etc. This is because male cats are very suseptible (sic?) to kidney/bladder stones and urinary tract infections. Unfortunately, this requires a very expensive vet visit. But if you don't get it taken care of they will die a slow and painful death.
So, if he isn't fixed. Get him fixed.
Take him to the vet and have him checked for infections.
If he's doing it because he's just a jerk - hit him.
Good luck. I hope he's ok.

He could be telling you he has a urinary tract infection...and in rare cases, if he is neutered he could have a blocked urethra and trying to tell you before it becomes lethal. You should take him to the vet to get him checked, just in case.

Don't give him any water. JUST KIDDING. He probably has a urinary tract infection. He needs medical attention. Or he has a psychological thing that he is acting out some anger/aggression.
