Cats are actually lactose intolerant and should be given water instead of milk anyway!

Depending on the kitten's age, water is probably best for her, as she does not have the chemical ability to digest, or break down, whole milk. If she is under 3 weeks, you can get a supplemental formula from your vet's office which you will have to bottle feed to her. If she is now drinking from a bowl, she's good to go with water! I know about this because I raised 4 kittens whose mother was killed from the age of 3 days and today they are 6 years old and in great health. Don't worry, usually kittens do much better on water if they are old enough.

It depend on how old the kitten is. If it is under 8 weeks you should be giving her supplement milk for kittens that you get from the pet store every hours. But if the kitten is over 8 weeks you should not give it milk you should be giving the kitten water and starting hard food.

Absolutey...water is the best drink for any living thing. Giving water to a kitten can be very dangerous..because the milk we use comes from Cows, the little doplets in the milk in the milk can not be absorbed properly in the gut of the kitten so will block urinary duct and may lead to urinal infections, because the kitten is not able to go toilet propertly.

I have a tiny kitten at the moment, and she drinks mainly kitten or cat milk - you can but it in the supermarkets. She also has a water bowl, but takes only a couple of laps once or twice a day.

Normal cow's milk is too strong for kittens, and they probably won't drink enough water to be fully hydrated.

I would but the cat/kitten milk if I were you - for a few months.

Water is great for her!! In fact, you're not supposed to give cats or kittens milk at all. Milk causes them to have diarrhea then they get dehydrated. Then unfortunately they sometimes die.
However, pet stores sell a milk made just for kittens that won't cause any of these problems.

Actually, you should not be feeding her milk unless its the special milk you can buy for kittens only. See cow milk can cause diarrhea and worms in a tiny kitten. If your kitten is eating kitten food and drinking water, she will get her nutrients and hydration from that, but if she isn't eating kitten food yet, you may want to buy her some kitten formulated milk.

Good luck and congrats on your new little addition.

Water is good to give to your kitten. Though depending on the age it may need milk. This must be kitten milk, not cows milk! Ask your vet for advice if you are still not sure.

Actually the water is better for her, if you want to give her milk, there are kitty formulas in most pet sections of store. Cow's milk usually gives a kitten the runs and a tummy ache.

There are alot of specialized kitten milks available. We had a kitten recently, and he loved cat milk. We've weaned him from that though and now he's on water.
Only put out water for a kitten if it is fully weaned from its mothers milk.

You shouldn't give a cat normal milk, as some cats have an intolorence to lactose, and kittens stomachs are still developing.
Water is fine, cat milk as a special treat (it's full of calories so don't give too much)
