I talk to her like a human, and she responds by doing what I ask.
for example, bring jitter (her toy), bring lady (her toy ladybug which she pulls on the string to make it shake)

Or even, go drink some water.

she does it all.

of course she doesn't have thumbs, so she cant make a sandwich.

I just asked her to go to her rug...and she is sitting there waiting for another order.

How weird.

Ask her to make u a sandwich...if she does that...then she REALLY understands what ur saying.

No she doesn't understand the words more like the tone of your voice as you tell her what to do.

i think after a while, they start to recognize words you say and associate them with the appropriate things. my cats knew their names. (i just have one now) one of them would talk back (meow) to me if i verbally reprimanded her for something.
