My cat is super affectionate and always wants me to pet him and he is always rubbing on me. I figure that means he loves me very much but do they really feel love or is it just that I am warm and I feed him? Would be love someone else just as much?

I have a male cat who is about 2 years old, has been neutered, and has FLV. He never meows, before today I could actually count on 2 hands how many times I've heard him meow.
This morning when I woke up he was meowing a whole lot, and he was walking around with his butt near the ground like he was trying to go to the bathroom. I put him in the litterbox, and he went, but while I was home at lunch he went into the litterbox, and I'm not sure if he went or not, but he came out and started to meow like he was in pain.
I've got a call into the vet, but I though I'd hop on here and see if anyone know what's going on with him, and if there is anything I can do for him in the meantime.
Could this be something to do with the FLV?
Any ideas?

Can anyone give me a GOOD recommendation for cat litter? We have two cats and nothing seems to work! We have tried Tidy Cats for Multiple Cats and Crystals for Multiple Cats. Anyone have more than one furry baby AND a litter that isn't gross?!

My cat could just be sitting there and he would randomly run all over the house. If your walking by him at night and he is like this, he will run down the hall and attack your foot! Is this normal?

I'm on a against the going to the vet tirade today for some reason but anyways, I was wondering if people think kittens are so fragile that going to the vet is a necessity for survival. My thoughts are that although a lot of kittens in the "wild" (farms and city streets) die, this is mostly due to being eaten. Cats have been around for a while, they can survive a lot of things, you don't need to take them to the vet for everything. Tapeworm can be handled with over the counter meds. Fleas can be handled with advantage. Most symptoms can be diagnosed to a good degree just with some research on Yahoo Answers. It might just be me, I don't like human doctors much either. But do you really need to take the cat or kitten to the vet for EVERY little thing?

I'm reading some of the answers and I have to say, it seems to me most pet owners are damn rich. I'm myself do ok but I can't afford to take my cat to the vet for every little thing. Anyways some of the answer I hear range from:

over the counter meds don't work, take her to vet
throw your furniture out if you have a flea infestation
and of course the take her to the vet for every little thing

Are you all rich or do you just like spending a lot of money on your pets?

lucy, my scottish fold, has been sick for almost two months now. classic symptoms of liver disease, but the medicine i give her three times a day isn't doing its job. i'm afraid we will have to put her down. this cat is my baby..she sleeps on my pillow every night. she eats 3-4 times a day (high protein food) but has lost over 50% of her body weight. her rbcs are very low, and only go up a few tenths of a point each week. she acts like she's not even sick. it would kill me to put her down. any ideas on what it could be? or how to make her better? :(

I have a six week old kitten. It bites when it is playfull. How can I stop it from this habit? One bit of advice said to say "ouch" and hold the cat to the floor for a few seconds. This works for a short period of time but is completely forgotton the next day.

My very long hair cat got fleas and when I wash him, he actually bleeds from the flea bites. I can't stand to see him suffer but I don't know what to do. I've tried using the flea shampoo and also FrontLine but nothing works. How can I get rid of them for good? On my cat and in my house??

We keep dry cat food out at all times. He isn't fat, he is in shape, and it's not like he is eating a TON I don't think. It just seems that he will throw up pretty much everyday - ushualy after eating.

My new kitten Spencer & I are temporarily moving in to my parents house where their cat Rufus lives. Rufus is 13 & has grown up here. I have tried to introduce the two but they just aren't having any of it. Is it because they are both male? Will it help when I get Spencer 'done' at the vets? Or will they never get along?!
