I have a young cat who likes to take the straws out of my drinks and play with it. Why does she do this?

I don't think I've ever heard of that... but look at it this way, it's a cheap toy. Hours of entertainment. Cats like weird things, mine enjoys to play with my computer mouse.

All of our cats throughout the years, young and old, have done this. Just remember to not leave a straw in a drink when you're not around, or your drink could get tipped over. We play with the cats with straws, but try not to let them chew too much because they could get small pieces and eat them. Cats often like to chew on something - watch out for plasticky/rubbery sandals, for example. We once had a cat eat the whole heel and back out of a running shoe!

I also have a cat that loves straws. He will pull it right out of your drink. He is very funny about it too, cause he knows he isn't suppose to till I'm done. If I have a drink with a straw he will get right up by it to sit, but refuses to look at it (if I'm looking at him), then just keeps moving closer. I always thought he liked the way it feels on his teeth. My young cat likes to chew the woodwork around the door, this is a whole different problem that isn't so cute.

Cats are very cute and playful.. but, if he is eating the straws, thats bad for him, it can get caught in his intestines and what not, which can be awfully expensive to have it removed.. Its okay if he's playing with it, but keep and eye on him.. oh, and also, if he's a new cats, i would advise to not put ribbons on your christmas gifts, if your cats anything like mine, they'll be gone before the day is done.

Both of my cats love straws. I think it may have something to do with the shape, because mine also "kill" pens and pencils. Most of the time it is when I have a big paper to write.

Grab a couple of the bendy types. They can be entertained for hours.

To your cat the straw is a toy. You will learn that each cat has there own personalty and each cat has there own quirks. I have had cats all my live and each and every one has been unique in their own way from shredding napkins to eating spicy Doritos. Just enjoy your cat and learn to see the uniqueness in her.

cause Cats are Playful animals... I have one that likes to leap up and bat the dice around when we play Yahtzee! if she just bats the straw around, try getting an extra straw out just for her to use so that you can keep Yours...
