Cats get worms, its nothing you did, and not your fault. I'm not sure if you can give a pregnant cat de-wormer..but if you called a vet, they would likely tell you over the phone for free, or you could search online. If they go outside at all, they pick up worms from eating mice and birds and such. Kittens and puppies are born with them...its really gross, but common..so don't worry too much about it.

Normally I would just buy a pill for worms that you can buy at pretty much any pet store, but I've never had a pregnant cat with worms before. I would definitely take the cat to the vet and not listen to what other people say. You don't want to take chances on your Kitties and the unborn kitty. As for preventing worms, your vet will let you know but what I do since my cat got worms is I clean the food and water dish every day, as well as change the water everyday. Make sure you don't leave any food out or the garbage out because they will get into it and eat old food that have larvae in it. You could also brush your kitty to take off any bugs and germs that might be on its fur so kitty doesn't get sick from cleaning itself. Anyways, I think there are other things to prevent worms but I think the most important thing to do would be to take your kitties to a vet. Good Luck!

Tapeworms look almost like rice in appearance and are found around the anus. These are segments that break off from the tapeworms body. Tapeworms are caused by a flea problem. So in order to completely get rid of the tapeworms you need to get rid of the fleas and treat for tapeworms. They do sell flea and tapeworm products OTC, but you must be careful with them, especially with cats. You must also be aware of medications that are harmful to pregnant cats. If you can't afford a visit to the vet now, call and find out how much everything will cost. Call different locations and ask how much it is for an exam for tapeworm medication, and flea products (some places will charge 2 exams for 2 cats and not just one exam visit). It's your best bet to see a vet for this medication, especially with your situation. Good Luck.

Generally you shouldn't use medicines in pregnant cats, so I don't recommend deworming during pregnancy - there's always a risk involved. On the other hand, NOT deworming is likely to have serious effects on mom and kittens. Mother cats with intestinal worms can pass worms on to the kittens through the womb (and later milk).
Some deworming products are safe to use in pregnant cats up to two weeks before birth. Usually this is mentioned in the product description. So... Treatment does not have to be harmful, but it depends on the product and the stage of pregnancy. If possible, ask your vet for advice before you buy deworming tabs.

Call the vet. Also for you cat to prevent this from happening again you can keep them inside. Also change their litter box a little bit more then what you have been . Don't leave food that your cats will eat lying around and also feed them Iams or a food that you can find at your vets not the cheap stuff from the store.

I take my pet to a pet store because the shots are inexpensive
You can even get some over the counter de-worming medication. The shots should do the trick.
I pay no more then 10 for shots and sometimes as little as 5 from a pet store
Call around to some in your area

I know my dog had worms when he was a puppy. It is very common for dogs and cats to get worms. Obviously the best thing to do is to take them to a vet for shots. Since that is not an option, try going to online pet supply stores (I used petrx.com) and buy deworming medicine there. Hope that helps

Go to your local pet store. There are over the counter medications for tape worms. Make sure you read the label to be sure that it will be safe for your pregnant cat.

The mother cat will pass it on to the kittens. I don't know a "natural" way to get rid of them. You are going to have to take the male cat to the vet, he will put him on medication that will clear it up. The female, you have to wait until she is finished nursing. Then you will have to treat her AND the kittens. Sorry.

oh no! I think the best solution is to deworm them by bringing them to the vet.
If not, try pulling the worms out from their asshole. (p/s : the kitty will feel the pain but that's the only way right now to lessen the amt of tapeworm in their tummy) Goodluck yea?
