If they do, how do they show it? I'm a dog person but I just got a cat and it's very different. To me, it seems cats only use you for food, shelter, and sometimes some petting time. Besides that they just lounge and sleep and sometimes bite. Is there something I'm missing?

theres a certain cat that keeps comin to my house almost on a daily basis. i keep givin it a little bit of milk every time it comes but she seems really thin and i think she may be pregnant or already have a litter somewhere because her stomach is slightly swollen and her nipples are really pink. i feel compelled to feed it cat food or give her cat milk but i dont know if i should. what should i do?
