OHMIGOSH NO!!!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!!
Okay, glad I got your attention now. You must not do such a thing. Cat's whiskers are part of their sensory organs. In a fit cat (i.e. not a fat cat) the whiskers are as wide as their bodies. Cats use their whiskers to navigate in the dark and to gauge the width of an opening they can squeeze through. They also use their whiskers to feel and smell. They even use their whiskers to help them balance. Whiskers are extremely sensitive as they are closely connected to the nervous system. Any damage to a cat's whiskers can cause them discomfort, confusion and disorientation. The nerve endings of a cats whiskers give cats extraordinarily detailed information through air current vibrations. Cats use messages in these vibrations to sense the presence, size, and shape of obstacles without ever seeing or touching them. That's why cats are such great hunters.
Please don't ever mess with your cat's whiskers...just as paws come with claws, kitty cheeks come with whiskers!

Cat whiskers are rickly supplied with nerve endings that tell the cat everything about its enviroment; air pressure, air movements and everything they touch.
Therefore, any damage to the whiskers will cause the cat discomfort. Don't EVER trim your cat's whiskers.

No, you should never trim a cats whiskers. They help a cat to feel where he is going at night.

No!! Please don't trim the whiskers..cats use them for their sense of balance and they are sensitive and needed. Experts will tell you the same thing..I think the whiskers are cute..they look so pretty when longer..unless so long that they're tripping over them (then I'd consult the vet before trimming!).

Not really. Cats use their whiskers for a variety of things, chiefly to tell them where they can and can't fit! A cat's whiskers usually only get as long as it's body is wide. So, if your cat's whiskers are getting extremely long, you might want to watch your kitty's weight!

No A cat's whiskers grow as wide as its bodies. A cat uses them by testing to see if it can fit through a hole. If the whiskers touch the walls she could not fit through, but if you cut them your cat could get stuck in an opening.

No. Whiskers measure the cats body width. If the cat tries to squeeze into tight places, the wiskers are what it relys on. You may consider a diet for your cat, but it is probably just a wide cat! Don't sweat it!

Don't do that - they are supposed to be long. The ends will sort of fray, and a few will fall out.
But if you trim them you'll throw off your cat's sense of balance. They are a sensory organ used to determine speed and proximity in close quarters - trimming them may end up injuring your cat because it will no longer traverse the room right.
