i have 2 black cats-one of them sheds like crazy and the other one doesn't (really weird) but i think it has something to do with age, the one that sheds is older than the rest and also has some dander near her tail. i do try to brush her often, cut down on the baths and changed the food to a natural diet (this has helped some)

go to a store such as PetSmart, *i work for one and they always have someone who can anwser any type of question* and tell an associate that you're looking for a premium food that will help keep down shedding. the better the food the less a pet will shed, also buy a good brush and brush your cat daily. But a premium cat food that is made specially for shedding cats will help you the most.

The "Shed Ender" is awesome. I picked one up a couple of weeks ago, and I comb my cat with it once or twice a week. It gently pulls out the dandery fur that she sheds all the time, so then it doesn't get all over my house. They're about $20 but totally worth the investment!

There are some foods you can buy that are rich in protein that help keep a cat's coat from shedding. Also, brushing her at least once a day would reduce the hair from shedding.

Brush, brush, brush. Cat shedding increases as the amount of daylight increases (which happens to correlate with the warmer months in the Northern Hemisphere). To help your cat out, get a wire bristle brush designed for cats. Brush her/him daily for at least 10 minutes a day. It will help significantly. Also recognize the Law of Cat Fur Magnetism:
"The attractiveness of cat fur to an object is inversely proportional to the color of said object". What that means is that if you have a black cat, every light colored object in your house will attract that black cat hair. If you had a white cat, every dark colored object in your house would be covered in white hair. It's the darnedest thing! :-)

I'd spend a few bucks on a cat brush and brush your cat daily. There are also little toys set up for a cat to play with so that when it rubs, the cat rubs off the excess fur as well. Good luck!

That is not going to happen. Cats shed. You can brush them a bit, but that won't stop it. Get a swiffer.

When it's shedding season, brush your cat as much as you can. Once a day, for sure, but try twice. Especially if your cat's a longhair....

Unfortunately, if it has hair, it sheds. And, it's summer, so it's SHEDDING SEASON!
Brushing and vaccuuming is about all you can do. It'll ease up some when it starts to cool off again going int Autumn.
