I noticed that my cat has to put his paw in his water bowl and drags it or moves it before he begins to lap up his water. Some days his bowl is a couple of feet away from where I specifically placed it when I replenished it. He's drinking distilled water now. His eyesight IS better in the darkness than the light. Awesome!! I read somewhere that as cats get older that their eye sight gets worse and that they have trouble with depth perception but when I ask my or his 8 or 9 vets he's had in his life time with me for about 9 years now, they all say no that that is not the problem but none of them can tell me why though. Can a knowledgeable person concerning cats help me with my dilema? Please? Thanks.
P.S. If you do not know the answer please do not guess and please do not answer this question. I'm needing precise researched knowledgeable accurate answers, Please?

one of my friends told me that the ultimate compliment u can recieve from your cat is if they lay on their back, exposing their belly, while you're holding them. is this true, and why is that a compliment from your cat?

I live in Upstate NY and my momma cat got pregnant before we could get her spayed(had the appt. and found out she was expecting)......She had 4 beautiful babies and they are just starting to open their eyes.....They won't be ready for about 4 1/2 more weeks, but I wanted to start trying to find them good homes early!!! I have 2 orange tigers, 1 orange and white(not tiger), and one calico. I only know that the calico is a female, the others i'm not sure of yet..............Let me know if your interested.

They are 7 1/2 weeks old. Three are orange & 2 are calico. they use a litter box and eat Kitten Chow now. I don't want to take them to a shelter or anywhere they will be in a cage.

My kids brought home a stray kitten that they found in the woods. I have an appoinment at the vets for it....but in the mean time, how do I teach it to use a litter box? And what should I do for it ....it is very skinny if I had to guess I would say it is about 8-10 weeks old. Wants to hide, but will lay there and let you hold it once you catch it, and purs. So, I don't think it has been out in the woods very long. I don't see fleas and it's ears look clean. ANY IDEAS TO HELP IT WOULD BE GREAT! Don't know if it is male or female, not sure how to tell.

I am a new cat owner (3-4 months), and I am going to be gone for 7 days. The last time I did this, I brought my cat to live with my parents. She was freaked out in a new environment (and took 2-3 days to come out from under the couch), and then freaked out shifting BACK to my apartment when I came back.

My question is really this-- Is it better to leave her at home alone, with my parents visiting daily, or is it better to have her in an environment where she will have constant human companionship? She is a single cat, and would be home all alone... would i do less damage leaving her alone more, or moving her?

thanks.

He is 4 years old and neutered. He wants to go outside very badly and we started taking him out on a leash but he marked by the door every time we brought him in so we stopped taking him out. Now when we don't let him out he pees in the same spot. I have heard cat's aren't "sneaky" or "vindictive" but I know he is doing it because he's ticked off. Help!

Both our cats had kittens...9 of them. We're going to keep 2 and we want to know what to name them. One is black and white and the other is stiped, but mostly gray.

He's almost 15 years old and been an indoor cat all his life. Last night he had what might be described as a seizure except that he didn't empty his bowels or bladder. Afterward his eyes were off and he couldn't/wouldn't move with some gentle probing (the kind of gentle probing that usual gets him up) This morning he was a little slower than usual but did his usual job of tripping me on the way to feed him and he ate his food with the same appetite.

I have a 6wk old kitten. I tried giving her soft food with hard food next to it, she would eat the soft food but not touch the hard food. so i mixed it, and now she eats it all. Is it ok to keep mixing her food like this even when she gets older? If not what age should i take her off of the soft food?

He runs around the house acting crazy, there are too many dogs and other cats in my neighborhood, I can't afford to buy him an outside tunnel, but my husband may be able to build him one. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that??
