Hmmm, this is a good question. Probably best to ask the vet. In my experience if the cat is already over 6 months (trust me they can be young) then you need to simply allow for the kittens to weane (sp?). Once the mother gets spaid, her milk will dry up...so make sure those kittens are eating on their own before you send the mom in.
As an add on: I do not think you can get a cat spayed at 8weeks old...please ask a vet as I am pretty sure that is too young, and instead they need to be at least 6 months old...

I know that you can get a kitten spayed when it's 8 weeks old. As for a mother cat that's just had kitten, you should wait until the kittens are 6 weeks old and are weaned from their mother's milk and are eating solid foods, then get the mama cat spayed.

Usually around 6 weeks, but you vet can let you know for sure. Also get the kittens spayed/neutered at 6-8 weeks.

Actually you don't have to wait until your cat has kittens to be spayed i have a kitten spayed at 7 months. For momma i think it best to wait until kittens are eating and drinking what you put down for them and the litter box. When they are self suficent then momma can get fixed.

I think the best time to have her spayed is after she has weaned her kittens. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think she will cycle very quickly after weaning and you don't want her to get pregnant again. But best to check with your vet on that one just to be sure.

I would think after she is done weaning the kittens, probably 6-8 weeks.

UNTIL THE CAT IS DONE NURSING THE KITTENS ,6 TO 8 WEEKS

after the kittens have been weaned off nursing. If you do it before then her milk supply will run out and the kittens will have to be bottle fed.

I suggest that you ask a vet that one. I think (think) its after she is done feeding them herself, after the kittens dont need the mother anymore.
