If it is in April then she is due not long after this, you can see if she is pregnant through her daily activities and her postures. If a cat is pregnant, she sits down carefully and likes to sit sideway. She will also avoid from running about actively or jumping around being mischeivious. If there is any sign where her attitude changes then you can conclude that there is a possibility she is pregnant.
The safest way is to take it to the vet for a checkup of course but then if you like cats a lot and have the money to keep them then let her breed as many as you would like to have. I would advise you to spay her as what the others have said after twice or three times giving birth (if you can afford it). That is the best way to make sure she won't give birth to anymore unwanted kittens in the future. But then, make sure the mother cat and kittens are all well fed.
One year old for us is only a short time and we would assume that she is a baby BUT it is a long time for cats. Cats' lifespand is short and can live up to 8 to 10 years the most. One year is actually 7 years to a cat if I am not mistaken. So it means that a one year old cat is not small anymore.
I have tried to feel the movement of the kittens when my cat gave birth, which is in April, but it never feels as if there is anything in it. You will only notice her tummy droops a bit and becomes bigger when she is pregnant but no movement can be felt. Maybe there is but I can't feel it. So, I hope these helps. My cat just gave birth to three kittens in April so I thought I could share some opinion with you.

I agree with Torbaynewfs. You should have had your cat spayed and if you didn't you should have kept her inside until she came out of season and you could get her spayed. Cats are only preganant for about 60 days so she'll be due in June. She's preggers unfortunately. I hope you can find loving homes for all her kittens. Please get her spayed as soon as the kittens are weaned. Don't wait for her to go into heat again. One cat and her offspring can produce over 400,000 kittens in just 7 years. There's already enough homeless kitties waiting to be adopted. Don't exacerbate the problem by being an irresponsible pet owner. Have your cat spayed.

Cats are prego for like 60 days. Usually you can tell they are prego cuz their nipples show more. They get a thicker in the mid section. It doesn't take long for everything to happen. Keep an eye on her see if she is going to the sames spot frequently. If yes, that's probably where the kittens will be born. If her nipples start leaking milk she will probably have them in the next day or so.

The gestation period for a cat is 9 weeks, you cannot normally tell if a cat is pregnant until they are about 6 to 7 weeks. give it another week or so and watch her movements carefully, if she is , she will start looking for a nice quiet dark spot in the house where she can have her kittens.

Yes she is pregnant, congrats. She is old enough to have it and you should be able to feel them by now. Pregnancy going for about 63-64 days but first one maybe a bit early. Good luck!

Lucky her!!! Still a kitten herself and her owner is too stupid or too cheap to get her spayed!!!!!! Hope the male wasn't FeLV or FIV positive. But I guess youdon't care about the mother's health, you just want kittens.

Best thing to do is take her to the vets, just to be sure its this and not something else causing a swollen tummy and sleepiness

She could be. Get her to the vet and get her checked out.
Also, getting her "done" may be a good idea for the future. That way you won't have to worry about it any more.

The only way to tell is to get her to a vet. If she's not pregnant, get her spayed immediately and you'll never have to worry again.
