A homeless one that you rescue and convert into a house cat! Go to your local shelter and visit with all of the cats there. The one that jumps out of its cage and into your arms is the one you should take home with you! Mixed breeds are best because they are the healthiest and sturdiest. I love many pedigreed breeds but nothing beats the warm fuzzies you get from rescuing a stray!

Well it all depends on what you want out of a cat? Tortise shells are pretty common house cat and are pretty active unlike most pure breeds that sit around and blend in with the furniture

Ragdolls are supposed to be very sweet cats. They are really good with kids and babys. A toddler could carry one around for hours and it wouldn't care.
