Kittens are susceptible to all sorts of ailments because they are young and have weak immune systems. This is true of all babies. Mother's milk is actually the best defense for a kitten's ailments. Critical immune boosting antibodies are passed through a mother cat's milk to her kittens. Anyway, eye infections in kittens are quite common. Just make sure you continue to treat the condition according to your veterinarian's instructions. Good luck.

NO!! That is retarded. A kitten can get an infection FROM the mother, not from the milk. Upper respiratory infections are common in kittens. Take the kitten to the vet and get antibiotics for it. If the eyes get bad enough, the kitten can lose an eye.

No, dear, mother's milk doesn't cause an eye infection. Sometimes kittens get conjunctivitus from bacteria or they may have distemper. Please take Baby to the vet. He can help pin the problem down. If you can't afford to, try calling the humane society and asking them. Keep wiping her eyes with a warm soft cloth so the matter doesn't build up. She may go blind if the infection gets too bad. Sometimes (sometimes, I don't recommend it) human eye ointments can help. Good luck.

PS for the person above me...stop it immediately. You're being an idiot.
