Let the cat smell some of my week old chili. She ran away and hid under the bed. That means it's been too long, right? ;)

Or is this just another one of her clever plots to get me to make a tuna casserole tonight?

The cat was telling you as a scientist relatively speaking=dont eat that stuff it destroys all you good Germs necessary for digestion .
There is scientifical possibility that that Cat is a Genious compared to your aspirations.
Such a cat is very valuable .Hold on to him and treat him nice.

not sure about eating anything thats been in the fridge for a week! but what i like to do with chili(cause its so hard just to make a little) after it is cool put it in freezer containers or freezer bags and put it the freezer. it will last forever and when you want chili agian just defrost it and warm it up in a pan, you might have to add a little water, but other than that its as good as new.

Chili should be good in the refrigerator for about 5 or 6 days. My husband would eat it for about 10 days, but I wouldn't suggest it!! Like someone else said, freeze it if you have too much. I think your cat is just silly. I'm sure SHE would eat it!

I wouldn't keep chili in the fridge for more than a week and depending how spicy you like it in the first place, keep in mind that chile's ferment and grow stronger the longer they sit in liquid, so be careful when you do eat it if it's been sitting for a few days, stewing.
