theres a certain cat that keeps comin to my house almost on a daily basis. i keep givin it a little bit of milk every time it comes but she seems really thin and i think she may be pregnant or already have a litter somewhere because her stomach is slightly swollen and her nipples are really pink. i feel compelled to feed it cat food or give her cat milk but i dont know if i should. what should i do?

p.s. i dont mind her coming to my house and i dont mind feeding her but i dont want to OVERfeed her. She has no ID and she only stays around for about half an hour per day but i feel as though i shouldnt feed her if she belongs to someone else.

First off, don't feed cats milk- They are allergic to it, and will often get sick. If you are going to feed her, give her cat food.

If you don't want the cat around- Call a humane society, preferably no kill, and get them to pick her up. Don't feel bad about taking someones pet- If she is owned by a loving family, they will go looking for her. If she's not owned, or owned by someone who doesn't care, she should get the chance to be adopted by someone who does care.

If you do like her around, I would suggest taking her inside to have her kittens. Its safer for her, and the kittens and then you can find good homes for the babies, and get her fixed.

Or if you contact some of your local rescue groups- you might be able to come up with an arrangement where they find homes for the cats and provide veterinary care, while the cats stay at your place.

Good Luck with Kitty!

ANYone that has outside cats knows that if you feed a cat - even 1 time - they will continue to come to your house because they know that food is there. If you do not want cats hanging around your place, do not feed them. If you care about the cat, you may want to take it to the vet and have it checked out or an animal shelter that will not euthenize them. Hope this helps.

Well if the cat is owned she shouldn't be wondering around. And by feeding her she will come back again for more. I guess it's your choice if you want to feed her, most cats can find food on their own.

If you can't keep her, call the S.P.C.A. or a local no kill shelter. They will tell you what you can do or come get her. If she is pregnant, she needs extra care. And if she has already had kittens, she & they need help. She has to be healthy in order to take care of her kittens. If there isn't a shelter or anything around you, call the local vet, he or she will be able to help you out.
