ok so we have two canary birds and they keep on mating. and so far they have had six eggs and keep on cracking them with their beaks or pushing them to the ground to break. can some one please tell me why this is happening?
We saved one egg and now we have no idea what to do. we kept the egg wrapped up in cotton and tissue in a bowl, under a warm light. is this what we are supposed to do?? how warm should the light be and how long will it take to hatch?? will it survive?

thnks for answering!!

We know a family. The parents are both doctors, and they spoil their children by getting them every pet conceiveable. These children had a male cockatiel, and they did not want him anymore. They treated him badly. They'd scare him out of his cage, and he'd fly around crazily, until the kids tried to catch him WITH THEIR HANDS!
So they gave him to me for free. I have owned him for about a year. i was patient, and gradually earned some of his trust. He easily sits on my finger and my shoulder, and he loves to play with my earings.

However, he will not let me pet him. I have a feeling that hands really scare him.
What can I do to earn his complete trust?

My Budgie rejected her 15 day old chick and I am hand rearing it. I am doing well, she/he is taking food easily and I am confident of the sweet little things survival. It is a very pale Yellow colour with Red eyes.
I wonder what would be a suitable name. Any suggestions, please?

I have seen people take sparrow chicks out of their nests and put them back, and the mother never even feeds them anymore, and by the next day the chicks are usually dead.

I've just purchased a jenday conure two days ago. He is such a sweet baby, more than one month old, but there's one problem: he lies on his back whenever he sleeps. Is that a normal behavior of conures? It freaked me out the first time I saw it, but when he was awakened, he was back on his feet. I hope it's not a sign of illness, because otherwise, he's a happy young parrot. He's got a big appetite; he loves exploring and beaking here and there. Can someone please explain? Thanks!

I have a lutino cockatiel and when I bought her I was not told her age. Here is a link to a photo of her if it helps:

I've had her for about 2 years now and she hasn't changed in energy levels or anything. I'm just wondering if there is a way to figure out her age outside taking her to the vet.

So far I have Erin, Aaron, and Arryn.

Do you think you guys could come up with some spiffy ways to spell it?

It's for my Sun Conure. It's about time I named him/her.

All the symptoms are there and she is about 1 and a half- I need to know what I can do- any advice will help- ps- she spends alot of time out of her cage-if she lays one of the eggs outside should I move it to where she will have them in her cage or what should I so- I read that I shouldn't throw them out.

hello i have a blue and gold macaw who just turned a year old. well lately it has taking to screaming all the time and not only when it is in the cage but when it is out. it yells mama then laughs and screams when you ignore it it screams even louder. what can i do to make it stop. coving it up scares it and spraying it just seems mean. this bird has a huge cage plenty of toys and gets out of the cage 5 or 6 times a day?

Okay, last time I posted about my baby Sun Conure I got a lot of people saying I didn't research. So, let me fix that...

I researched.

Secondly, when I said ''he is well fed'', I didn't mean I'm putting seeds into a cup and assuming he's eating them. I do handfeed him three times a day and I also give him his water. So I didn't buy a baby bird because he was cute. I bought him knowing full-well the responsibilities that came with it.

He's not dead or dying. He's actually very healthy. Just to let all you pessimists know.

The entire reason I posted the first question wasn't for you guys to assume I'm not able to handle a six-week old baby bird. I am capable and he is doing just fine. I was only wondering if there was a specific reason as to why he was quiet in the store and the first day in my home and the next day he is noisy all the time.

Sorry about the confusion.
