My guess is when it gets hungry or thirsty it will come back to its cage.

I have been through this before the only thing to do is go through each room of the house look it over real well if it is in the house he is probably sleeping.Try looking in all the closets open all the doors that are inside not leading outside.get newspaper and spread on the floors of each room open all closet doors and cabinet doors .spread food out on the newspaper and whistle for them or call them the way you usually do.then go through each room doing this you should have some luck.Look in all hiding places you can think of under clothes, blankets, anything laying in the floor.Look in all cabinets, bathroom, living area, anywhere that has a door.check in beds also.Birds are very smart and very entertaining they will do just about anything that is play-full.If you can still not get them to come out I would suggest looking outside.

Assuming there was no escape, the bird is quietly watching you in a great hiding place. I couldn't find mine today for a very long time and he was peering from behind a TV stand. I put a treat in my hand and called out. He didn't respond and was just watching me. Yours will come out of hiding. Hang in there. I'm sure he will be back.

Try closing all the doors in your house and make sure everyone keeps them closed then later go in every room and check keep doing this untill you find the bird then if the doors are closed you'll know its not flying around in house from room to room it will be easier to find if kept in 1 room of house

Set out bird food and water. When it gets either hungry or thirsty, it'll either go there or to the cage.

well it depends on what size the bird is the best way to get it out is to make noise and scare it to make it fly out. if it can fly and are you sure it is not stuck some where or maybe one of the people who had it out took it outside?
