Hi. I had this problem with a Quaker parrot and would whisper around it and reward it when he complied and covered his cage for4 minutes if he would just scream. Sometimes, their age may be at a time when hormones are raging and the bird acts out. It's like a teenager stage. After a week, mine settled down. This might work for you. Have a great day and good luck.

I bet he is competeing with the TV. When he screams talk to him in a low voice and mabye he will scream lower too. I read that in parrot behavor books. Yes spraying is a bit mean and can wreck the relasonship. If you sprayed him it may be why he only likes mama.. (Asuming that you sprayed her and mama did not.)
Are the toys wood? Wood is awesome! :) Is there enough varaity try giving him some new veggies to snack on!
But honostly parots and macaws well.....they scream on a daily basis. :)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Macaw ownership.
Macaws are as smart and need as much care, stimulation, and interaction as a 2 year old.
Having a Macaw is like having a 2 year old around for the rest of your life. Complete with screaming tantrums.
Get used to it.

I have a blue and yellow macow and let me tell you when they screen alot it's because they need attention. The best thing to do is put a small radio next to your bird ,just loud enough where he or she can hear it and that usually keeps them quiet .Thats what i do when my Susi calls me she yells mama and i just turn on her radio and she starts dancing ,thats keeps her quiet.
