The pigeon has been on the side of the pool for about a hour. He is starting to move his head around, but other than that he is not moving. I'm worried he might fall back in the pool. Should I move him?

I was petsitting my mother in law's birds while she's on a cruise, and her canary died. I emailed her to let her know about it (couldn't call because she's on a ship) and she hasn't responded yet. Would it be nice for me to clean and break down the cage before she gets home so she doesn't have to do it? Would you like someone to do this for you? or would you prefer to handle it yourself if this happened to you?
I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing!

I had a brown bird about 5" long in my yard. The back was a solid medium brown, the breast was a slightly lighter greenish-brown or khaki color. Each wing had one white stripe. It had two little feather horns on top of it's head. No black or other colors visible. I walked to within about 10' of the branch it was sitting on before it flew. Can't find it in any bird book or on the internet.

Can we use alcohol swab to disinfect wounds in parakeet?

I asked in another question about using neosporin to treat wounds. As an after thought I realized I have alcohol swabs as well but yahoo answer wouldn't allow me to change my earlier question hence I am posting this one.

I would like to know whether I can use an alcohol swab to wipe the wounds on my parakeet (before applying neosporin or whether I apply neosporin or not) to disinfect if necessary. My parakeet is a new mom that laid and hatched 3 eggs so far (4th might hatch today or tomorrow).

Thanks.

I know much about my little pal. He thinks he is human - not a bird. He mimicks many sounds, talks, dances, and many other things. I was just thinking though, one thing he hasn't picked up is the whistle. He does not whistle. Do conures not whistle?

Hi

Is it safe to apply antibiotic (neosporin) to the wound?

I have two budgies the hen recently laid eggs, four eggs, 3 of them hatched, the fourth might hatch today or later. In the meanwhile, the cock (male) and the hen (female) fought for some reason I dont know why?. The hen got hurt due to that. Can I apply antibiotic ointment to it? Is it safe to apply antibiotic, Is neosporin safe to apply? Other than that the bird (hen) looks fine? I am not a breeder I have only two birds and they ended up laying eggs. I just want to take care of them as much as possible.

Please advice.

Thanks a lot.

I work at a pet store and we recently discovered that one of our parakeets has no toes. He sits at the bottom of the cage alone. He can not reach the food or water so we also put some down at the bottom of the cage. I have decided to adopt him, but what should I do for him? I want to get him a little ramp and a platform so he can be uptop with my keet Cricket. Any ideas?

just wondering you see, as i have a theory......over the years, as evolution occured there were many different creatures being created through genetic mutation and the like.
I think that there wrer feathered creatures who kept having incestuous relations and so caused genetically deformed infants, who in turn had incestuous relations. This caused more and more deformed infants until one day, the egg hatched and the genetic mutant that popped out was, in fact, A CHICKEN!!!!!!
