In the UK we're told to notify the council if there are more than one dead bird found in an area. The bird might have died of natural causes, shock, accident or indeed a disease. It's good to care, and if you're worried, do tell your authority as it'll put your mind at rest, also the rules may not be the same if you live outside the UK.

The bird may not look like its got anything wrong with it, but the blood on the pavement suggests it has probably been poisoned (either slug pellets or rat poison). You do not need to report it to your local authority. Birds that die of bird flu do not bleed.

This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

Do you mean disease? Maybe it has a cut or something. Take it to the vets.

Just give it a nice big kiss, and if you're still alive in five days, it probably died of old age.
