The pigeon has been on the side of the pool for about a hour. He is starting to move his head around, but other than that he is not moving. I'm worried he might fall back in the pool. Should I move him?

uh.... I dont know where you live but some areas put poison out for Pigeons...

A pigeon would not normally fall into a pool ..I suspect he is sick or injured or maybe poisoned..

If he is he is suffering.. You should call animal control or a wildlife rescue in your area or take him tot he vet yourself..
Keep him away from kids and other pets .

Depending on where you live in teh USA its very important you notify somebody of this bird... really

Thanks for caring

Yes. I would definitely move him. Sounds like the poor thing is still in shock. If you can, put the guy in a large box with air holes and a bowl of water. He should recover in a few hours.

Yes put him in an open top box and place him where its a little warmer and dry, he should recover on his own in a few hours, make sure he is out of the way of cats, dogs and any other danger while he's recovering, God will reward you for your efforts.

I've got a lot of links to wildlife carers from a lot of countries on my site, at
http://au.geocities.com/leaswebsite/links.html under "Wildlife Assistance" - just click on them all, click on your country and state, have a browse, 'phone them and ask their advice.

Very very best of luck.

keep an eye on him and scoop him out if he falls back in, otherwise try to leave him be - he's already scared, and if you try to handle him he could be literally scared to death.
