Buy 2 Slinkies. Stretch the first one out and tack it up on one side of your windows sill to the other. Take the second and weave it around the first, tacking it up to either side as well.

This creates a razor-wire-like barrier without the razors. Completely harmless to people and birds; they just don’t like trying to perch on it.

Gels and other lubricants they sell can actually end up killing the bird very slowly and very painfully. Birds can control all of their feathers like we can control our fingers. They can flatten tem when hot, fluff them when cold and maneuver them in order to fly.

If anything sticky gets on their feathers they lose these abilities. A small amount on their feet can easily spread to their body when they groom and scratch themselves. From there its only a matter of time until they lose the ability to control their temperature and fall victim to either the elements or a predator. They also don’t discriminate between a pigeon and any other song bird. To get rid of 3 pigeons you could end up killing a dozen finches in the process.

There is a gel that you can apply to keep them off. It's sticky and they don't like it. It's non-toxic to animals and humans. There's also spikes, noise and light deterrents, and nets. Check out www.birdbgone.com for many different products to keep the pigeons away.

pop cans work as well as slinkies and you don't have to buy anything. So does aluminum foil. They hate the shiney material and the noise it makes when they rub together.
