I just put him in a cardboard box with some water and some bread crumbs. But he is so terrified of me, he won't eat or drink. Just keeps his little head stuck in the corner. He did try to bite me when I tried to show him his water. Its hot outside here in Los Angeles! Is there hope for him to fly or eat. Should I take him home with me. I am at work. Help!!

Have a senior lovebird who is my heart and soul. Beginning to become unsteady on legs from age. Is somewhat bald in different areas from what might be allergies, constantly scratching, now plucks when new feathers come in. Have taken to vet several times but unable to help due to age of bird. Does anyone know of a salve to help? Has a good diet and bathes, and spoiled!

How is it, some people can let birds go in their back yards when they decide they don't want it anymore? I was shopping one day in a town about 60 miles from where I live, and ran into one of my hometown friends, well, luck has it she was going to her uncles for dinner. she called me on her cell, her uncle had found a bird in the feild behind their house. My friend called me, knowing I am an amimal lover, and told me the story. Her uncle had gone to neighboring houses to see if the bird got loose. The owner of the bird (small parakeet) just didn't want it anymore. So she let it go. It's wings were just freshly cut too, so it couldn't fly away from preditors. How can ppl do this? Have they no respect or conscience? I told them to call a pet store, sometimes they take animals back. My friend called me back and it was a no go for one of the big pet store chains. SO, I called my pet store, and luck would have it, they took the lil bird in to find it a new home. HOW can ppl do this??????

Too high to reach and probably couldn't even get a net into the tree. Have hung a cage there with food inside but he doesn't seem to go there. He is too lightweight to trip an animal trap. Must get him, can't survive a northern winter.

I want a bird, but my parents won't let me. they say they are to noisy and smelly. I will clean it's cage every day, but I still need a bird that isn't that noisy, And I would like one that is very friendly.

The chicken came first because God created all living creatures, not their embryos. Then when he destroyed the Earth, Noah took 2 of each animal, male and female, therefore meaning, the chicken came before the egg, TWICE.

My little canary died Sunday. The Bird Shop owner ask me if my bird had been near any non-stick cooking pot or pan. Yes, I brought the cage past the stove in order to clean its cage. As soon as I set the cage on the counter, my bird toppled over and died.

First, thx to everyone who gave me the advice to keep him alive - he's doing great! But I don't really want to keep him forever, I'd rather set him free. Problem is he has no fear of humans, cats or dogs now, and probably doesn't know how to find his own food. He's about 16 days old I think, fledgling, still baby feathers but flies pretty well. Still eating catfood and hamburger and cereal, not very interested in the seeds I put out for him.

THERE IS NO BIRD REHAB HERE so please don't suggest that. All other suggestions appreciated!
