Have a senior lovebird who is my heart and soul. Beginning to become unsteady on legs from age. Is somewhat bald in different areas from what might be allergies, constantly scratching, now plucks when new feathers come in. Have taken to vet several times but unable to help due to age of bird. Does anyone know of a salve to help? Has a good diet and bathes, and spoiled!

awwwww how beautiful,
have u checked for mites? u most probably have., introduce something else to his enclosure? maybe a natural branch something to play in native trees?
Something to keep him busy?
Have the vets suggested any type of treatment?
I too suggest that u take your baby to an avian vet, they specify with birds predominantly.
This way they can rule out any worries u may have

I have love birds (2 handreared ones inside) my babies, and also 2 scaley lorikeets.
We have a huge 15 ft aviary outside with our adult stock, so well looked after. i loooooove my birds.

try contacting an avian vet in your area. sounds like an age problem for sure. i heard the pulling feather syndrom is a sign of mental illness. i wish you the best of luck and i hope things work out for you. sounds like a well loved bird.
