I have 6 Cockatiels, a Budgie, and an African Grey (soon to be two). I have had 12 Cockatiels at one time. Birds are great companions (not pets). BUT - unless you are willing to put lots of time and money into them I do not suggest you get birds. Buy a fish.

I own three starlings. Okay, I know, most people think starlings are a pest species. They are all rescues and actually make the most wonderful pets I've ever owned! They have much more personality than the more common pet birds, are much quieter, and do not have the hook bill which hurts badly if you are bitten by! They are related to the famous Myna birds and can actually learn to talk much easier than any parrot. These birds can not only talk, but learn to do so in your own voice! His name is Big Bird. He lives in my closet. I only take him out at night to set him in the middle of my room so that if any bad guys come he will fight them off for me. My mommy says that he can't save me from anything because he's only "plush" but I don't know what that means, I don't care because I know that my Big Bird is the bestest thing in the whole world!! Big Bird is my hero. Do you have a hero?

I have 8 birds total now. I have 7 parakeets and 1 cockatiel. Parakeets: Tweety (green), Sunnyboy (blue), Malachi (grey), Pixie (yellow), Bluebell (yellow, blue, white), Dixie (purple), Opal (white, blue). Then I have one split to pied cockatiel, Uno.
Birds are great pets, and I love having them. They are a huge responsibility. I had to learn so much, it took me more than a month!

2 doves.
1 lovebird.
So many when I help them but then realses them back in the wild mostyl baby birds.
Im getting a goose soon and a talking parrot.

We have a cocktail and her name is Mini. She is such a joy. She never wants to be without us..And if I'm doing homework she likes to help me by eating my paper. She is a riot, wanting our attention all the time. She is a great watch dog, sure raises cane when someone comes to the door, and also lets me know if the phone is ringing. I have and do enjoy her fully.

I used to have a bird that said fresh water ***** and then i took it to the humane society then they Killed it cuz it cursed them out!
