Why is it that birds always fly across the road right in front of you when you driving. I've nearly hit thousands of birds in my little time of driving, I would feel terrible if I hit a bird.

Another question from my cousin!

How do you tell the difference between a baby pigeon and an adult one...she's wonderin' why see never sees baby pigeons around.

I told her she's just not lookin. After their mating season and the babies are now gettin' bigger you can find them in the eaves of store roofs. You know it's the baby because it's the one gettin' the pigeon milk!

But what's yer best answer?
OH...can you state where your answering from...she doesn't believe that people from ALL over the world click on to this site!
I'm in CA.
Thanks again1
Thanks..

My last bird, a light blue parakeet died 2 months ago while I was on vacation (someone else was watching it). I've missed having a bird around and want to get another. What type of bird should I get? I already have a cage that is 18' x 18' x 18' and the bird can't cost more than 50 dollars. I want a bird that I can interact with. What type should I get and where can I find it.

P.S. I live in Virginia.

It does this at night. Its wings are not moving. It hangs from my porch. Upside down. Where the wall hits the ceiling. And it sits like that. For hours. The damn thing scared the crap out of me.

This humming bird looks very overheated. I live in Las Vegas, NV and it has been very hot here like 115 degrees in the shade. It is just perched on the feeder, and I can walk all the way up to it. I was so close I brought a hand pump sprayer and was misting cool water on it. I am not trying to hurt it, just cool it off. I can imagine with it's high metabolism it can produce a lot of internal body heat.

Thanks for any answers I may get.....

I know this isn't a very great question. It's more of me asking people here to not respond to serious questions unless they have a good enough, factual knowledge on the subject. For instance, if someone has a sick bird or a baby bird that needs to be handfed, do not respond unless you know for sure that what you say is correct. Birds are very sensitive creatures and can die very quickly from disease and improper care. Please, instead email me if you have questions that are serious...

PS: I am a rehabber and bird breeder and just have seen so many false answers and simply do not want any birds harmed. It's great you're trying to help, though. Also, google is a good place to go to for answers to serious questions about your bird(s) instead of here.

Thanks everyone!

When ever I talk to my parakeet, her tail goes up, her pupils in her eyes get small, and she looks as though she is hypnotized. Why does she do this? Is it bad?
