A healthy Parakeet that is not just on a diet of seed can live to 10-12 years. But if you only feed it seed you will be lucky if it survives more then 3 to 5 years.

Nutrition plays a huge part in how long your bird will live. Give him/her a 75% pellet and 25% seed diet as this will give you the most time with your feathered friend. Plenty of clean water everyday. Birds are notorious for dunking their food in their water and it can quickly become bacteria soup. So change the water often. The average life span should be 5 to 8 years. Don't forget to spritz your baby with water everyday, they need it.

I don't know exactly how long they live but I've had mine for 3 years she'll turn 4 this Christmas, she still looks young but she's 4. I'd think they live for maybe up to 10 years or so, some people's birds have lived longer, but I don't know how they do that, keeping them healthy? mines healthy, and alive, thats all I care about. but I think they'd live to about 10, so thats my guess.
My bird still has many years ahead of her and I'm glad.

between 10-15 years on average. But I know some people that have had their birds for 19 years before it died. So it is a long term comitment.

Anywhere from 4 to 8 years. It all depends on how you treat them. Period they could live up to fifteen years if you treat them right. You can actually teach them to talk just like a human have patience and your bird will come through for you.

I had a Rosy Bourke that grew to become into 6 years previous whilst he died, my budgies in elementary terms bred as quickly as (regrettably the eggs have been in-fertile) yet they lived to be around 7 years previous... I have no theory why they lived that long... regrettably we lost all of them (5) whilst they have been staying with a chum jointly as I holidayed whilst a canine controlled to push open the aviary door, all of them escaped... I lived a close-by packed with Hawks and Eagles so i grew to become into very distraught to confirm approximately it. besides, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that long they stay, treasure their companionship and love til they pass away you!
