people say that ALL dogs are meant to stay in the house-well what about wolf hybrids?? do they count too??
and what about the dogs that are so energetic that they are meant for outside..do you want a HUGE ENERGETIC do running through your house and knocking down everything??
i think certain dogs with certain characteristics and personalities belong outside..
What about you?

I plan to get a pigeon to hand raise at some point(hopfully a female) but I'm kind of curious. I know when she gets older she'll start learning how to fly. I have read about pigeons that were hand raised learn to fly on their own.

But I still wonder if when I get mine if she'll figure it out herself. Not sure.

What do ya think?

(no jokes or ridiculous answers please)

I have a 12 -14 week old kitten and a rescue who is now about 6 weeks. The older one has been here exactly a week longer. So here's what's going on. Obviously I wouldn't let them anywhere near each other until the vet gave me a green light.
They play for awhile, swiping paws, really cute and harmless then out of nowhere the little one decides she's a tiger and pounces! Ofcourse the other defends herself and I have to break it up. Other times the bigger one stalks, pounces, sctratches bites and GOES FOR THE THROAT.

She's broken skin a few times now. If they were the same size I'd probably let them fight it out (well, not fight fight..)

I'm afraid one of them, especially the younger, is going to get seriously hurt. Suggestions?

My cat I think suffers from anxiety problems ever since she was born..she used to chew off her brothers eyebrows and she constantly whines..she seems nervous .. recently she has lost her male companion..i don't know if she is under stress and this is the cause of these sores on her head or what..they are like little pimples with scabs on them except for one which is an open sore that is round..about 1/4 inch in size...!?..I wonder..this little kid chased her with a toy truck when she was only weeks old and literally scared the crap out of her..i wonder if this is the cause of her behavior..just throwing it all out there..

I adopted a five month old calico kitten yesterday. She's very sweet and loving and I was told she was sick. I still wanted her. I haven't seen any signs of sneezing that I was told of. She's very calm for her age and doesn't seem to want to eat. She does drink but for the most part she'll take a couple of bits and eat no more. Is this normal? Is she just adjusting? I know she likes the food because she ate as soon as I brought her home. I was also told she has blood in her stool but she hasn't done the deed yet so I'm still keeping my eyes open. Please help!

I am looking to get a dog that is decent size and that can enjoy a huge yard to run in. This dog will prodominantly be an out-door dog except extreme weather. So he will have to be versitle with winter and summer. He will have to be a good family dog that likes to play with little kids and go jogging with me. He also will have to be a good gaurd dog, to protect my family if I am unaware. Also as if you didn't notice, I would like a male dog. Any help?

I have a kitten who is getting to be soo bad. She bites everytime you go to pet her and doesn't ever listen when you say no. Shes wrecking my plants and eating food on the counter shes not suppose to. Plus she runs around the house making a mess. I don't know how to discipline her anymore. I've tried to use a spray bottle but she'll still start doing her bad behaviour everytime till you get her soaked. Plus she bites feet. What do I do...shes sooo darn cute

I am so tired of hearing people answer questions regarding when, what, why to they want to breed their dog, by saying they should go to a shelter and adopt a dog first. WHY???? Those shelters are full of diseases, viruses and mistreated dogs and god only knows what else? I say, if they are the ones that are feeding the dogs, then they are the only ones that need to have an opinion as to why they are breeding, etc. What do you think?

He vomits usually just water with a very small amount of hair mixed in or usually it is undigested food. I feed him Iams adult indoor hairball formula. He brought up a hairball the size of a dread-lock once. Since then its just clear and watery. His belly isn't distended and he doesn't act sick. Is this normal? Sometimes I think he over-drinks water, then runs all over the house like a crazy cat then he barfs. Both my cats drink water like they're starved for it. So I keep several bowls of fresh water around the house. Whats up with that?

I have two cats and am seriously considering an automatic litter box. However, neither of my cats will cover their poop. They haven't since they were born and they're 3 now. My concern is could that cause a problem if their 'poop' doesn't harden in time? (please excuse the lack of better terms)

I had her since she was 5 weeks old and she did not shed at all if any. Do you think that she's just loosing her baby coat and when her other coat grows in she wont shed as much? Her mom is golden retriever and her dad is a lab. She does looks more like a lab and does not have that long retriever hair. Her hair is just golden. What can I do to help with the shedding? Its getting all over. Thanks for you help!

I live in the south and I have three 8 pound pups. I am tired of the fleas. I have bathed them, and sprayed them. They spend the majority of the day outdoors. I am not willing to pay all that money for "Frontline", and all those other expensive brands. With three dogs that becomes rediculous. Please send helpful responses. Thanks for your time.

Hi thanks for stopping by. I am thinking of adopting a 2 year old daschund. I saw him at an adoption fair and fell in love. But the only thing is I can't have an indoor dog because I have a 17 month old and another baby due in may. My 17 month ond dosen't realize that she is not supposed to sit on the cat, (which I never let her do, but have caught her trying several times). Anyhow would this dog do okay outside with a dog house and warm bed or would that be cruel because they have short coats? I live in an area that does get snow about once or twice a year and only a couple inches and it is gone within a day or two. Thanks.

Has anyone had any problems with evo wet food? My friend had a cat die on her last night. The cat was in great shape. 9 years old. She fed her dinner from a new case and she started throwing up. She called the vet and the vet would not come in to see her and she died at about 1 this morning. They are doing a necropsy today. The cat was in great shape. She just started vomiting after eating evo wet cat food last night. I know it is made in a menu plant. Any one else had a problem like this? We have a call into both evo and the fda.

My in-laws' dog is four years old and un-neutered. They were supposedly going to breed him but haven't done anything. I know neutered dogs are calmer because they aren't all hyped up on hormones. He is so spastic that he will knock my one-year old daughter over and sit on her when she's on someone's lap. He is out of control and I'm afraid he's going to hurt her. I know it could just be his personality, but other relatives have dogs from the same litter who are fixed and NOTHING like him (MUCH calmer). When I told my mother-in-law to fix him I phrased it by saying it would be good for the dog (lower chances of prostate/testicular cancer). She was like, "I know," but that's it. She hasn't done anything. I would think she would want to do something good for his health and protect her granddaughter from getting injured by him but I guess not. My husband has said we can kidnap him and just fix him for them, lol. What should I do?
