I am afraid that you have got about 13/15 years of this to look forward to.
Goldens and Labs are very heavy shedders and you just have to brush them daily and use an undercoat rake to keep it under control. I know what it's like. I have 8 Goldens myself and am forever vacuuming the house. It is something all Golden & Lab owners have to do. I don't think we'd put up with it if we didn't love our dogs so much. It's all part and parcel of owning one of these wonderful dogs.
Your pup is, as you said, starting to lose her baby coat right now and she will shed a lot. She will start to grow her adult coat and then when it comes to moulting time, which incidentally has nothing to do with change of seasons, you will find she will shed again. It takes about 6 weeks for them to drop their coat, then six weeks at rest, then 6 weeks for the coat to grow back again.
When your dog's coat is fully grown again you will probably find she will come on heat. This is when the coat is at its best. She will probably keep her coat for 6 months then it will start all over again.
Don't despair, there are lots of gadgets on the market that might help to keep it all under control. Regular grooming at the Beauty Parlour will also help.
Good luck.

She's losing her baby coat.
But I'm sorry - both Goldens & Labs shed a LOT.
So you will be dealing with this for the rest of her life.

I kinda find it strange that, with winter coming on, she's loosing all this hair. Seems she'd bulk up for winter.
Call the vet. He'll probably say it's the baby hair coming out. But it could be something else, like thyroid problems.
In the meantime, brush her and brush her and brush her (OUTSIDE). Brush her hair backwards, against the direction it usually lays. There's a special brush that you brush, and push a button and all the hair comes off and the brush is clean again. Then you can brush some more. It wouldn't hurt to give her a good bath, too.

She is blowing her puppy coat! You need to just keep brushing her very day. A tool to help you is called a double coated rake. It get not only the under coat but the top coat as well.
They sell them everywhere even WalMart.
Pick one up and you'll be much happier and so will your puppy!

As long as she isn't getting bald spots shedding (sometimes even heavy shedding) is quite normal.
Vacuum a lot and invest in lint brushes. I'm sorry I don't have better advice than that.. I have a lot of animals and have pretty much given up on keeping my home fur-free.

By now, her coat is probably a mixture of puppy/adult - she's most likely blowing that out to bring in her Winter coat.
Keep her well brushed (Daily!) and keep a supply of lint rollers on hand.

I have a male and he sheds a lot. Get a good brush and brush her everyday. It will help but there isn't much else you can do. Invest in a good vacuum.
