they know we are being affectionate? my 1 year old lab likes me doing it coz she wags her tail lol

me dog LOVES kisses, his tail wags, hes all bright and bouncy and he kisses back.

My spaniels hold up their muzzles and ask for kisses. They do it regularily so it makes sense that they know its a sign of affection. Both my younger dogs press close and keep very still and fuss if I stop.- If I worried about what they licked I wouldn't do it, but I have survived in extremely good health for all my long life, and the love of my dogs is more important to me than silly human foibles.

My 4yr old Lhasa Apso is gorgeous. She is my baby and I am always kissing her and hugging her. She will lick me back to show me affection. Animals know when they are loved and looked after, I,m sure of it. Your dog wags her tail when you kiss her so she must like it.

I lick my bum plus my private parts,I sniff all my four legged buddies bums aswell,oh & my favourite pass time is sniffing other pooches pee & poo,,give me a kiss oh go on,I'll waggle my tail but I'll be just as pleased if you rub my belly & give me a cuddle & I love it when u chuck some thing so I can bring it back to you,,,waggle waggle look my tails waggleing.xxxxxx

They know that you're being affectionate by your mannerisms and temperment and eventually they associate that with kisses!!

My dog loves it when i kiss her and she loves to kiss me back!
Even though dogs may lick there bums there mouths are cleaner than ours so i don't mind!

I think they know, because when I love on my pit bull Max...he lays his ears back, and scoots to get under my arm, so my arm is around him. He loves the attention and the baby talk, when we have our own little "love" sessions.....dogs rule!
