The worms at first look like vermicelli. (the flat spaghetti like pasta) Then after they are out for a little while they look like spaghetti. Does anyone know what this could be and what type of dewormer to get?

Hello all. My wife and I are looking for a Tibetan Terrier pup.

My mum has had Tibetan Terriers previously and while I know Tibetan Terrier pups aren't that difficult to find as in years gone by, it's still not easy to find local breeders. And of course there are the inheritable genetic defects to take into consideration.

My wife has previously had a West Highland Terrier which recently had to be put to sleep due to old age. My wife would like to get another West Highland Terrier pup and I would like get a Tibetan Terrier pup and we'd like to get them roughly at the same time so they can grow up together. But obviously while West Highland Terrier are readily available, Tibetan Terriers aren't so much.

Does anyone have any contact of breeders in Lancashire (or nearby counties) please?

Is there any product that actually repels fleas on dogs?We are in Fla, and the fleas are bad here. I have even treated the yard, and nothing seems to work. I have also used frontline on our dogs, that didn't work. I am resorting to bathing an Akita, and German Shepard once a week, and that is an all day job and back breaking. They both hate a bath, and are pretty much indoor dogs.

So we went over to a couple's home (hubby's friend's house) and they had a black lab that was about two years old. We walked in and met the dog and he seemed friendly, as he was wagging his tail. As the evening progressed, I got really uncomfortable. The friendly dog would go up to you and bark loudly at you over and over again until you pet him. If you ignored him for a split second he would whine, bark, and nudge you to get you to pet him. Don't get me wrong I love dogs and don't mind petting them but I couldn't even hold a conversation! I had to focus my attention on him or else be barked at and nudged. His owners didn't even say anything to him, they just said 'oh he likes attention' and laughed. I really wanted to say 'no' to the dog and try to get him to stop, but I didn't want to seem rude so I just kept giving in. Did I do the right thing? What would you have done?

I just recently got an african grey, I am new the species and the personality of my bird so I was just wondering if this is something all birds do or dose it sound like there might be something wrong. When he perches on my finger he lets his wings droop down, he kind of leans forward and his wings go down to where they are almost touching my fingers. Another thing I have noticed is when I hold him he will open and close his mouth every few seconds and makes a little clicking sound. He is eating, drinking and sleeping fine and it seems like he is okay, I just wasn’t sure about these behaviors.

When people ask questions, how do they decide which answers they get are the right ones?

Do you trust the ones that are the most well-written? The ones with sources to back them up? The ones from people who claim to have lots of knowledge or experience? The ones that are most popular?

I ask because I am concerned about the huge amount of wrong information being given to people.

I have a 1 year old cocker spaniel lab X. She was downstairs with my Mum in the garage on Monday night and when Tilly came upstairs she was limping and not putting any weight on her back right paw.

As far as we know, she didn't actually do anything to herself and she wasn't whimpering or acting like she was in pain. I checked her pads for a cut but there was nothing. I felt her toe joints and one was a bit squishy. We took her to the vet today (it was the earliest they could see her)

The vet had a look and said that he's pretty sure she's broken the squishy joint. He couldn't fit her in for an Xray at the time but she's going in tomorrow.

Can fractures just happen like this? My Mum was with her the whole time and she said she didn't see her hurt herself.

I have a 3 ft tank that has two guppies, 1 neon tetra,1 gourami, two black skirt tetras and 1 betta fish and some snails. This morning I found my gourami half-floating in the tank surface. Seems like it is gasping for air. I moved it to a bowl and put some anti bacterial medicine and salt. You can see it here:

http://pets.webshots.com/album/561436536BMphBj

Theres probably nothing for me to do now. But what cud b the reason? The other fish seems to be doing fine. Although one of my snails died two weeks back. If something is wrong with the water, shudn't the neon tetra be affected before any other fish? I cannot tell you about water parameters because I dont hv test kits.

There is a stray cat in my neighborhood that has been here for years, even before we lived here. I thought it was the neighbor's cat because they used to hold it and be affectionate towards it but I just found out that its not theirs at all its a stray. When my mom caught it eating old turky from the trash we felt so bad, so I have been feeding it cat food ever since. Ive googled this sort of thing and people seem to say not to feed a stray cat....i dont think the cat is any danger, it is calm all it does is walk around the neighborhood all day, and it hasnt had any kittens as far as ive known so it is probably old and "fixed". I've also read that leaving food out for the cat to eat can attact racoons and mice.... has anyone of you been in that situation? Did feeding a single stray cat in your neighborhood cause you problems?

also, we need to get a UVB light but all i can find is stuff about the bulbs, so does a UVB bulb fit into a normal lamp?
also, how long does a tortoise NEED the lamp? what kind of living thing do they need? can they live in a big glass tank or do they just roam free and we hope they don't run away? any help would be great!
if we dont have the info we won't get a tortoise it would be cruel if we did! Phantom x x x

In a 55 gallon tank with 2 large balas (max 6in.),2 small balas (2in.),3 red finned sharks and 2 large sucker fish,we found the fish to looked to have ich after stressing them when my wife changed 100% of water and gravel.(Overcrouding will be addressed, but these fish were fine prior to the change.)We found online that salt is the best cure for the parasite,BUT...I'm an idiot.I used table salt with iodine to only find later that iodine will kill my fish.I assumed that the tank, being 55 gal capacity when empty,is closer to 50-45 gal with gravel, fixtures, fish, etc.
I put in 15 tsp of iodized salt (idiot) mixed with hot water. The fish seem ok right now,but will I wake up with a tank of floaters or do you think the mixture might be too weak to hurt them?
All help will be appreciated.
BTW,tsp= teaspoon,not tablespoon

Abu is a very intelligent monkey and seems to be quite thief like or thievious (actual word look it up). I was wondering if in theory I had a monkey would he steal things or would I have to theoretically teach him this. This is all in theory of course.

My husband just called me from work with a bit of a dilemma. His co-worker found an injured brown bat and now they are calling me asking what to do with it. I called the emergency number for The California Wildlife Center and left a message but I haven't heard anything and it's been a few hours (some emergency hotline). I told my husband to get a shoe box and line it with a towel or something soft and to keep him in the dark someplace out of a draft, but that isn't anywhere in his shop that's for sure. So now he's got him in the box and is bringing him home. Can I just leave him settled in a lined shoe box until someone comes to get him? Will someone even come to get him? I don't know what I'm going to do with this bat if no one can help him. I don't know the first thing about caring for injured bats. All I know for sure is that it's one wing is broken. Do bats even recover from broken wings? What do I feed him? Should I give him water? Help! Please!

Gracie is four months old today. She is a chi-weenie (Chihuahua and Dachshund mix). We have tried the drops that you topicaly apply as a line from the neck down the back to the top of the torso (like the advantage). We have tried flea and tic powder and shampoos. I have treated carpets furniture, bedding and our other dog and two cats. They are fine but Gracie is still irritated by these fleas. She is not covered in them but it makes my feel bad that she is scratching this often at all. She sleeps with us at night and I have only had a few bites my husband none. Maybe it is not as bad as I feel but they are visible when you turn her on her back to rub her tummy you seem to se a few, every time. I also tried diluted Tea-Tree oil but that caused irritation. Thanks to all ~Dezi~

My cat had a urinary blockage about 2 months ago. That was removed and his tract is all clear. However, he's been to the vet at least once every 7-10 days because he seems to be in intense pain. He screams when we go near him, hides under the bed, doesn't want to eat, etc. As soon as I get him to the vet, he comes out of his kennel and purrs, rubs all over the staff, etc. They have given him steroids (Metacam) about 3 times now. He takes them and goes back to normal. About 4 days after his last dose, he's crying in pain again. He had an x-ray and ultrasound of his hind legs and bladder, and he has no breaks and no more urinary blackage. He cannot stay on long term steroids because they said his kidneys can fail. What do you guys think? Is my cat just a drug seeker???

I live with two other roommates and they have decided to bring a stray cat into the house. This is a problem for me as I have severe allergies and asthma.

At first I fought the entire thing but eventually gave in and said that they could feed the thing as long as it stays out in this porch like mudroom. Eventually though after giving an inch they took a mile, and the cat has been inside. One guy claims it is ok because he leaves it in his room and only when he is home.

A few days ago I came home early from work and discovered the cat wandering free in the house with nobody home. This means that obviously they allow the cat inside all day while I am at work.

The past few weeks I have had to take more doses of my Zyrtec D allergy medicine and my asthma inhalers. It is making it an awful excistance for me.

What should I do to get rid of this thing considering I am out voted 2-1 and really dont want to have to cause a massive fight over it?
