My cat Friskey just got his vet appt to get neutered on Thursday. I am very, very nervous. I know it's for the best to get him fixed, but what are some pros and cons to get fixed? Apart from the obvious reason of not being able to impregnate any females?

His sister, Lily, is going to get an appointment about two weeks after his is (depending on how my money is at the time). What are pros and cons to getting her fixed? Apart from the obvious no babies?

I am just so worried about my babies dying or something while getting fixed. Please no negativity, I am just very nervous.

For those who pursue dog training with a trainer, what kind of criteria did you have in selecting your trainer?

How did you find your trainer?

How many years of experience did you want your trainer to have with dogs?

Is your trainer a member of a local dog training club?

Does your trainer show in various venues and has titled their own dogs? Is this important to you if they have or have not done this? Why?

What things make you feel that your trainer is qualified and knowledgable in training dogs?

How many classes did you or are you taking with your trainer?

Does your trainer encourage you to go forward and enter matches and trials?

I'm just wondering what things people looked for and liked in trainers they do or have worked with.

I have a 14 year old male tiger cat. No history of any illnesses, always acts normal (as a cat would). I have not changed his food (dry or wet), the type of litter used or any other thing I can think of. A couple months ago he had fleas and I gave him a bath (using the same shampoo used since I got him, and have used it several times throughout his life).

The problem is, he is now pooping and puking all over the house. He has chewed most of his fur off also, hence the puking. He does not have any fleas at this point either. Never poops in the same place either.

What is really driving me crazy is the constant wanting to be fed and the howling/meowing at all hours, when you walk in the room, when someone new walks in the room.

I find him staring off at nothing (like the wall) and it takes him a few seconds to snap out of it.

I am not a vet either, but I think he may have had a stroke. Is that possible? He is old I will admit, is it his time to go peacefully? I am sad.

Last night before i went to bed he was just fine, but this morning he was wedged in between the lid and the plastic bar in the tank. I lifted the lid to get him out because he just to big for that now. As i lifted it i noticed that his head was a bit misshaped and swollen on the right side. what should i do? Will it go down?

I have two pam-poodle mix year old dogs. They barked at everyone who walked in the door at our old house, and even when the neighbors shut there car doors. We just moved to a apartment, and we have been here for two days and we already have a complaint form the office. We did have them locked on the balcony while the door was open when we were bringing stuff in, and I can understand that, but we think while we were gone for an hour they whined the whole time inside..... They get more than enough attention, so please dont tell me that. I just want them to not bark at every other person who walks to there apartment.... Giving them away is not an option.... Do bark collors work?
