He's a 16 week old Border Collie pup, and this morning there appeared to be a swelling on the sie of his face, not too big but noticable. I want to know what it is and if it'll go away because I want to try and avoid the vets at all costs!

I got a kitten on Monday and he's four months old. He's been quite badly treated, he's got fleas, a cold and diarrhea. I think he was being fed adult cat food so I'm feeding him kitten food now but it doesn't seem to be helping. He sleeps a lot but he's generally quite active and playful but I'm getting abit worried it might be more than a problem with his food. The woman we got him off had 8 other cats and was letting him run outside even though he's not had any injections.

Any ideas what might be causing it and what I could do to help him?

I have a 16 year old cat, and we get two kittens about 3 years ago(their sisters) And one of them always hisses or trys to attack my old cat. she has stopped this now, but now my old cat hisses or moans(like a growling, haha) When she comes on the room. But i always say to puss puss (my old cat) No, leave her shes not annoying you, and its like she understands, cause she sits back down again. Also, i ask her something like, do you want to go outside? (like before im going to go to bed, just in case she needs to go outside to go toilet) and shell either walk over to the door for me to open it, or she will go off to where she likes to sleep. also, we have french doors, and my other cat will lean up again the door and like make knocking noises against the door, like shes knocking on the door to come in

I just found out that grapes are toxic to dogs! I read it in an SPCA pamphlet and then asked the vet and she said that they can cause kidney failure!

I have used the spray that is supposed to stop them from going in the same spot again but she still wants to go there. She hasn't had her shots yet and I think this may be the reason. Is our kitten litterally retarded? Don't give me the well take her to the vet deal because obviously we know that. She came into our house unwillingly. I get mad at her when I catch her and throw her out of the bedroom. Should I dicipline her at all? She is about 8 or 9 weeks old. Please help. Also we have 2 litter boxes in the house one for each cat and she pees in our bedroom even when the door is wide open. and when the door is shut she meows at it to get out and go potty. What is going on. We got her when she was nearly 5 weeks old way too young we know but her mom abandoned her on a farm because she had an eye infection and it was the cats first litter and it only had 2 kittens.

I feed my puppy Royal Canin. A nosy neighbor keeps insisting that we switch my puppy to Ol' Roy. She even brought me two bags of that stuff. She says that I am "throwing my money down the drain" by feeding my dog Royal Canin. She even got real upset and said that all dog food is made the same. She says that she feeds her dogs and cats Ol' Roy and they love it. She says that Ol' Roy was voted "Best tasting dog food in America". Personally I think she must own stock in Ol' Roy by the way she promotes that brand. I am suspicious of it because of the ingredients & low cost. Frankly, I don't want to take any chances with my puppy. I want to ensure he gets the nutrients that he needs from a high quality dog food.
My vet recommends Royal Canin. I told my Nosey neighbor this and she got mad and accused my VET of being "in Cahoots" with Royal Canin. She refused to take back the bags of Ol'Roy & got offended.
What do you think of Ol' Roy? I do not want to switch my dog food.

when u think about it its better to buy from a pet shop because its for sure its gnna be healthy when they give u it cause they give it all the shots up to date and wormed and checked if its healthy. its not nice about the puppymill things but if there were no pet shops not manny people would have dogs cause personally i wouldnt trust a breader i never met before instead of just buying it from a public place.

My neighbor's teenage son taunts my dog, and of course my dog ends up barking incessantly. The neighbor comes out and hoses my dog with water and my dog runs away. This has happened a couple of times already, and now my dog is afraid of water. We are not on speaking terms with this particular neighbor, so it's very difficult to find a solution to this. Anybody have any ideas? They have been abusive to the point where they have kicked the fence when my dog barks at them, I don't know how to prevent my dog from barking at people who mistreat it either...

I've been searching answers & internet & nothing really sounds like what is going on with my betta. I came home yesterday & he's swimming oddly. It's hard to explain; it's almost like he isn't really using his tail to swim. If he tries to turn, it's like his body will bend in a U shape. It looks very un-natural, & I don't think he's doing it on purpose because he always seems to struggle to make himself straight again.
He's eating as he normally does (which is quite funny because he attacks his food...literally he jumps like he's attacking the food & will come a little out of the water.) He seems to have a harder time righting himself when he gets back into the water, & like I said the U shape his body will go to. His tail fin isn't spread out like it normally is, but he doesn't look discolored to me at all. It's hard to tell because he always had some white near the bottom of his fins but it doesn't look different. I change water regularly, & feed him once a day.

My cat scratches soft against my shirt or dress or whatever while I am laying or sitting and grabs ahold of it with his mouth and just bites down and continues to scratch-like. It seems weird. He seems like he's in a trance when he does it. Kinda funny cute.

Ive had him for about three years and hes about 4 and a half. He was always a pretty vocal lil bugger but now its ALL the time pretty much whenever I move or go to do something. I've always given him attention and played with him the same but now its like I cant do anything with out him being right there. Also he is running around the house jumping on tables which he has NEVER done and I quickly shoo him off. (While typing this question he has so far knocked over my printer disconnected my mouse and pounched on the keyboard causing me to have to hold it under the table which is hard to type, knocked over my screen and has not stopped meowing for 7 min straight, hes like a kid on a sugar high topped with 12 pots of coffee) What has caused him to go all crazy on me and how can I calm him down?

For the past 2 days my 5 month old puppy has had diahrrea which is a little bit bloody, vomitted 2 or 3 times and is refusing to eat.
We took him to the vet this morning and immediately got him tested for Parvo, and the results were negative. He also tested to see if he is dehydrated, and he was not. The vet told us it is some sort of infection and just gave us antibiotics to adminster to the puppy 2 times a day. We gave it to him twice today and he hasn't been eating, but has been drinking. (the vet said he will eat when he is feeling a bit better ) He had some diahrrea today but only tonight it started getting a little bloody. And he hasn't vomited today either. I can't sleep because i keep worrying about him...can anyone give me any tips on what this infection might be so i can ask the vet about it!?

Hello, so have four rats all together and today they all slowly died one after another for reasons we dont know, anyway I noticed that on one of the rats (the black rat) there were these small white things hanging on at the top of its hair, on closer inspection I saw that they were small white bugs that hardly ever moved, could anyone have a guess what these might be?? and maybe if they have something to do with the fact that all our rats died on the same day?. (PS. they arent maggets because the rats JUST died)

I take my dogs to walk at the park by the river daily. There is a grandpa and two little girls about 5 and 7 who hand feed the squirrels there each morning. I think it is irresponsible and dangerous. It causes the squirrels to approach humans that come to the park and even chase them begging. It puts the little girls at risk of being bitten or scratched and needing rabies shots. What would you do? And who would you turn this into if at all?

My dog started seizing (or at least what seemed to be seizing) a little over a month ago. All the sudden his head started shaking but none of his extremities.. So, I took him to the ER and they put him on seizure watch for the night. He was prescribed phenobarbetol (sp?) However, he did not seize at all for weeks, and the medication made him pee in the house so we took him off of it (with the doctor's permission) thinking that maybe the seizure was a one time thing. But tonight he started again.. Same thing.. His head shakes uncontrollably for a few seconds (I counted a few different ones ranging from 3-18 seconds) but it's always just his head. He also seems aware while this is happening.. Does anyone know what this could be? We are really starting to think it could be something neurological.. Were planning on taking him to the vet this week but I figured I'd ask here just for my own curiosity. My worst fear would be a brain tumor or something like that. Please let me know!
