is this a sign of affection?? or a "feed me " sign?
also she sleeps on top of my pillow right above my head!!
its cute, but a bit annoying..

I currently have 8 cats, so I can tell you that it's affection! ^^ Your kitten genuinely loves you.

Believe me, when they want to be fed, you'll know. There'll be a lot of meowing involved.

It's a contentment thing. When cats are kittens they knead on the mothers stomach while they are feeding to help stimulate milk production, which in turn fills them up and makes them happy. When a weaned cat does it, it's more of just they're happy and content kind of thing.

It's also called milk treading a trait carried on from kitten hood when the kitten would push on the mother's belly to get the milk to come out.

This may also have an origin going back to their wild ancestors who would have had to tread down grass or foliage to make a temporary nest in which to rest

When my cat was a kitten he used to get up on me and knead me. I asked the vet about it and was told that it was his way of bonding with me. It might last for a few months or for the rest of his life. He still does it on occassion now. It is probably the same with your cat.

Ohhh, it is affection! Enjoy it while it lasts! I love when kittens do that lovely massage on your shoulders and neck. But she will stop when she grows up.
