I have used the spray that is supposed to stop them from going in the same spot again but she still wants to go there. She hasn't had her shots yet and I think this may be the reason. Is our kitten litterally retarded? Don't give me the well take her to the vet deal because obviously we know that. She came into our house unwillingly. I get mad at her when I catch her and throw her out of the bedroom. Should I dicipline her at all? She is about 8 or 9 weeks old. Please help. Also we have 2 litter boxes in the house one for each cat and she pees in our bedroom even when the door is wide open. and when the door is shut she meows at it to get out and go potty. What is going on. We got her when she was nearly 5 weeks old way too young we know but her mom abandoned her on a farm because she had an eye infection and it was the cats first litter and it only had 2 kittens.

Yes as i said before she meows to get out of the bedroom to go pee when the door is closed. She uses both litter boxes ( she has just started to use the big kitty litter box) We live in a one story house with one litterbox in the bathroom and one stacked on some boxes in the kitchen so the dogs can't get to it. And she uses both of them.

It could be because the 4 small dogs inthe house (anxiety) they chase and try to play with her all the time. She is a very active playful kitty and not worried. I will use the enzyme cleaner and then put her food dish there. (very smart idea wish i would have thought of that.) We can't just close the door and kick her out of the room becauee out room is the "cat room" They have 2 food dished and a water bowl and a cat/play house. The dogs aren't allowed in our bedroom and they both know that. Also she isn't worried bout the other cat because he adopted her as his tiny girlfriend and he cleans her and plays with her all day (so sweet.)

Nah, i don't think her not having her shots yet are the reason - although i would advise that you take her for vaccinations as soon as possible - this saves you having to fork out dosh in future as vaccinations will provide immunity against some common kitty diseases.
With regards to her pee-ing behaviour, there are many explanations for this, but the more common ones are that she could be:
1) "worried" about the other cat in the household.
2) "marking" - yes, cats do mark their territory too.
3) simply not house-trained!
Honestly, you should take her to the vet. Getting her spayed may help if she's "marking".. and if she's a "worried" cat, the vet can actually prescribe medications such as diazepam or even acepromazine for this. There are also a couple of behavioural modifications that you can try out:-
1) make the area she pees in as un-attractive to her as possible. Keep using the spray.. and maybe even chuck some tin-foil there so it's all crackly and she wouldn't wanna pee there. You may also try to chuck her food bowl there - she won't pee if her bowl's there! Or.. this is slightly more tedious.. but you can put a litter box on that spot where she frequently pees, then slowly move it away over time, to where you want it to be.
2) if she's a "worried" cat, try to prevent situations whereby she can get intimidated by the other cat - feed them separately, have their litter trays far apart etc.
3) litter tray issues - it's great that you have one for each cat.. however, did it ever occur to you that your kitten might not like the current litter you have in the box for her? i suggest you put out a couple more litter boxes, each with a different type of litter.. and this might just do the trick.
4) finally, good on you that you're not punishing her. Just throwing her out of the room is good enough. there's no need for yelling or what not. Also, if you do catch her squatting in that spot and about to pee, hurry over and pick her up, then chuck her in a litter box immediately.

i wouldn't say your kitten is retarded, she's just a baby at 8 weeks old. you need to get your kitten to vet to get her shots and wormed a.s.a.p. they can get sick easily and transmit diseases without proper vaccination and flea & tick prevention. since she wasn't properly weaned because she was abandoned, throwing her out of your room is like another form of rejection and abandonment if she's seeking your attention and/or someone to bond with. it's possible she doesn't remember where the litter box as she's so young and still learning or that being rejected she might be doing it for attention or out of spite. i wouldn't be so harsh with discipline, but train her and as she matures she'll learn. it doesn't happen overnight.
how far is her litter box from your room? does she have access to the other litter box as well and how far is that one? does she use either one at any time or only go to the bathroom on the floor?
if she's only going to the bathroom on the floor she's obviously not litter box trained yet. in that case, when you see her start to go to the bathroom just pick her up gently supporting her under her arms and stomache and gently put her into the litter box as she's going. it doesn't matter if she's finished going to the bathroom while you were moving her from the floor to the box. it just gently reminds her the purpose of the litter box. don't yell or scream, you'll only freak her out and confuse her. always clean any mess she makes on the floor thoroughly and then use the spray. if she goes in the box, but not all the time she might just pick the closest place if she doesn't remember where the litter box is or too lazy to find it. in that case, you can move the litter box into the same corner spot where she always goes until she goes to the bathroom in it all the time. if you don't want to have the litter box in your bedroom, just remember you only have to leave it there temporarily until she's fully trained. then you can move it a about a foot every couple of days as long as you see she's following and using it daily until it's where you want it to be. just be patient and kind and remember they learn really quick compared to humans when it comes to potty training!

When you catch her, don't get mad or throw her out, this only stresses her and makes her do it again. Just gently grab her and put her in the litterbox and help her dig there. Encourage her when she pees in the litterbox, as you would do with a child that goes potty. Put a litterbox exactly on the corner of your bedroom where she pees, after you clean the spot well with detergent. Put her pee in the litterbox so that she can smell it. Be patient, she's still a baby.

hi there, well i have had a few kittnes that have just weeded in the corner, what i did was is moved the litter tray to the area where they were peeing, leave it there for a few days and then return your cat litter to its usual place and the kittens will go to the the litter tray instead of the corner good luck!!

Use a spray that has enzymes in it, shut ur bedroom door, don't let her in it. Keep showing her where the litter box is, since she's young it could be possible that she forgets.
