I brought back some red mangrove propagules from my trip to Puerto Rico about 9 months ago. I had just stuck them in a jar of water and got about half of them to start growing. They're at the stage where they have roots and are starting to get leaves. I can't find any information on how to take care of them from this point on. Anyone had experience growing red mangroves?

We feed them outdoors and it doesn't take long for the ants to invade their bowls. I have heard of tape products. We have a 3 1/2 year old so need bio friendly product.

It's at an animal shelter/clinc. Would it be ok if I just wore a nice pair of jeans and a nice shirt? I don't want to look too formal because it's not really a job that requires you to be formal. I'd be more like the cleaning up messes and walking the dogl type of person. I'm also 17 if that helps.

I know all of the health risks etc but strays can not pick it up. The vast majority of owners clear up instantly with their little poo bags. Leave our dogs alone and pick on humans who leave litter of all desciption. This will set some tongues wagging! am i bovvered?

Starting about a week ago my 4 month old golden retriever will not eat unless I am within a couple feet of him. His routine has not changed or his food - he gets a lot of attention and exercise from my husband and I. Previously he would eat even if we weren't in the house - now he won't eat unless we're right by him - even if he can see us but we're further than a few feet he won't eat. Any ideas what would cause this? We have tried leaving him and seeing if he goes back later to eat but he doesn't.

I have a fourteen year old cat and last year we got a kitten. We have had the kitten for a year now. Over the last six months I have periodically had a problem with the new cat poopand peeing in other places. Lately I have began to suspect the older cat. Now a third cat has shown up on my door. I am getting sick of the **** litterly and I am thinking of getting rid of all but the fourteen year old any suggestions?

Is a heavy shedding dog like a samoyed or a keeshon really that terrible to have in an apartment? How bad is it? Is there a way I can remove the hair so it doesn't end up on my carpet?

I'd love to get answers from experienced owners-
Thank you all very much!! :)

One of my guppies just swam by and he had a bone through his nose!!! Seriously though, my plant life is seemingly on steroids and it's gotten so I can hardly see the little stone mountain in the middle anymore. In a way I'm happy because these may be the first plants I've ever had that didn't die in a week (don't have to remember to water these lol) but it's just too much. I wanna see my pretty fish again! What's the best way to go about trimming things up in there? Are there any common mistakes you can help me avoid? How much should I take out? Thanks in advance to all you lovely fish lovers!

Three days ago I noticed a triangular shaped gravid spot on my wagtail platy and moved her to another tank and gave her of my two small neon tetras to keep her company (I also think they are too small to eat her fry). She is a rather long platy, so her stomach isn't looking huge, but the gravid spot is very significant. The temperature in the tank is about 79. What kind of time frame can I expect for her to be giving birth, and also should I be feeding her more/less food, or doing anything differently?

She was having trouble with a horrible cat who was hanging around, although he seems to have disappeared now. We got new furniture on Saturday. After just four days she's peed on it it. We were hoping that having new sofas would break the cycle as we were getting rid of the old smelly ones but it hasn't. I just don't know what to do anymore. I've been crying and panicing thinking that the only option left is to give her away. She's such a lovely little blue/cream three year old. She's been doing this for a few months now. Are there cat behavioural experts or cat psychiatrists who could help? I don't want to lose her

I just got 4 more Golden White Cloud Minnows yesterday.. Finally the petstore restocked them! So now I've got 6. It's amazing how they swim all as one...

But I'm wondering how can you sex them? Breeding specifics?

Also, the petstore I go to is having a 10 year anniversary sale starting on the 18th... ALL food is 50% off. There are a million brands of fish food, which is a brand that is actually reliable and is good to feed them?

Keep the nonsense to yourself, but thanks to all who answer!

I have a pregnant dog. I have only had her for about a month. She only looks fat while laying down on her side which she does often now. She has been lacting since August 2nd. It was like all watery, now it is white. Yesterday she started 'nesting' her temp is at 99.3 F. she used to curl up while sleeping, now she streches. I have a whelping box made, but I dont know when to expect it. How can you tell if a pregnant dog's vulva is dialated for labor? Please help ASAP

one of my cats came home with his arm about to fall off and it was horrifying to see the bone and the paw about to fall off. he got his leg caught in a leg trap that some person put out for other animals. since it was a miracle he came back of course we didnt want to put him down so he got it amputated off. its been 2 1/2 weeks and he got his stitches out but he's not himself. he wont socialize with us or the other cats. hes nothing like himself. his pupils are big and hes nervous i dont know what to do ((((((( for all animals lovers like me we dont let our cats outside he got out from a open door as someone was walking out))))))

The cat will be in the bedroom, and next thing I know I see kitty in the kitchen or living room just hanging out. I think to myself "didn't I just leav you behind a closed door?" Odd.
