It's at an animal shelter/clinc. Would it be ok if I just wore a nice pair of jeans and a nice shirt? I don't want to look too formal because it's not really a job that requires you to be formal. I'd be more like the cleaning up messes and walking the dogl type of person. I'm also 17 if that helps.

Sorry I put this in pets. I just figured pet people would know more about what you should wear in this type of job.

Your answer is pointless. I already stated why I posted this question in this category. This forum is for questions and I already know what section I was on.

Dress as you mentioned. Make sure your clothes are clean.
Wear closed shoes (no sandals or flip flops). No logos on
t-shirts.
You can always adapt after you start to work there, but just
think about "first impression."
Shake hands with interviewer, look them in the eye.
Show what a responsible person you are.
Good luck. Hope you get the job!

I am the assistant manager at the local Humane Society in my town. I can tell you first hand that dressing for the part, is only a small part of the interview. However, if you are more comfortable and relaxed in a pair of slacks, I would suggest that's what you wear. You will look professional and versatile with a nice shirt and a pair of slacks.
Good Luck to you!

Definately go for either black pants or khakis. Jeans seem a little too casual. It's always better to be a tad dressed up, then dressed down.
