Why does my female dog yelp like she is in pain when she mates?

First a female dogs vagina swells when she is in heat. When the male dog enters her, his penis swells to ensure he will stay in her through the duration, which can last quite awhile. When your female is having intercourse with the male, it hurts her because they are litterally stuck together until the male ejackulates and the swelling of his penis goes down enough to release from her vagina. Once the two dogs are joined there is no way to get them apart until he has done his deed without injuring them both. It is a little painful for her and him as well, but she will be ok, I promise :o)
