I was told that putting gallons of water keep the cats off your lawn. Is this true?

My 3 year old mare has been staying out at my grandmothers since we moved into a development.

I came to see her and when i got up there she was STARVED.
I couldnt belive how emaciated and just...horrible she had gotten. Im so scared. Im getting her OUT of there within the week but i need some help and how to to get some weight back on her before we start the Psiphillyn [sp?]

QUESTIONS
:Mashed bran- Good at getting the sand moving out?
:Vegitable Oil Supplement-Good at getting fat back on her?
:How much alfalfa. I dont want to over feed her!
:Exercise helping the sand get out of her stomach?

Please please please help me. She is my world and i cant believe they didnt take care of her.

ps. Im also worming her. But should i do this after ive gotten some weight on her??

Doesn't she realize that ALL purebred dogs came from breeding different types of dogs to come up with what the breeder wanted,and that two purebred dogs of different breeds will make a mutt? To me,and a lot of other dog lovers,a dog is a dog is a dog.I love them all,purebred or mutt,and I have both - all rescues or former strays,and yes, people throw away purebreds everyday,so I don't know why she thinks she's so high and mighty for breeding purebreds,and puts down those of us who own mutts.She may be a responsible breeder,but can she prove that none of the puppies she has sold have ended up on the streets or in a dog pound,or contributed to the mutt population by mating with a dog of a different breed? And how many of you agree that all dogs are created equal,and a mutt is every bit as good and deserving of a good home as any purebred?

i own two 1yr 2mnth old res. they are the same age. i got them at a little beach store went they were 2months old, gosh, there were ton of them in one tank. good thing i saved two of those res bc the rest are probley dead-poor guys. anyway, its jsut a random question cas im interested in how long ppl have owned their res.

I just got a Whisper Heater by Tetra and was wondering if its ok to put it underwater completely. It says it doesn't need to be adjusted and will keep the tank at a certain temp. A red light is suppose to come on when heating, but since i got it, it hasn't. I just have the top part cap of the heater where the cord shows above the water and was wondering if thats the problem.

My rat,ester boo,died 2 days ago in my hands. I held her and pet her head while she was passing. My brother was here while this happened and I was crying,obviously,because she was my baby. He told me to quit crying over a rat and when I told other people about it they were like "so get another one" or similar things. I just want to know how some people can be so insensitive to the lose of a pet no matter what kind. Most people with pets think of them as family as I did. Do you guys have any bad experiences with people minimizing your love for your rat? Or people telling you how gross they are? How do you deal with it? What do you say to them? I am sorry this is so long I am just frustrated and still upset that she is gone. Thanks

how long will salt water fish live in a fresh water fish tank (only saltwater fish in the tank) and how long?i got some salt water bait fish (12) 4 inch mud minnows,i would like to keep a live?i cought them with a cast net.i have them in a brand new 10 gallon fish tank new gravel and water filter pump aqua tech 15-20?its a fresh water setup now,i had the fish in the tank for 6 hours now and thay are doing great.none died so far.will salt water fish live in a fresh water setup if every thing is the same as a salt water fish tank setup but no salt in the water?do the salt water fish even need salt in the water to live?should i ad table salt to the tank?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i also have a 75 gallon fresh water fish tank setup gravel and hood with lights.i would like to make a salt water setup. how much would it cost me to buy a salt water pump skimer to filter the water?

Today, I was riding a green 4 year old named Picasso. He is very noodly and doesn't take directions well lol. I asked him to canter and he bucked as usual. I completely went on his neck and was out of the saddle sitting on his neck close to his head while he was trotting along. Of course I was too occupied by trying to stay on that I forgot to stop him. Riding on a horse's neck is actually kinda comfortable! LOL

my 2 year old black lab is constantly sneaking in and eating up my canned cat food...also, she will go into our kitchen trash and take out the empty cans ...drag them into the day room and lick them clean.....i can't figure out how to stop her from doing this??

I recently adoped a dog from a shelter. She was a stray, picked up by animal control and was in the shelter for almost a month before I adoped her. She's young- about a year old and at first she didn't play with toys. Now she does, but she fetches "backwards." If I toss a toy in the living room, she picks it up and carries it through the kitchen and leaves it by the back door. At the park, she will chase what I throw until it stops moving, then loose interest in it when it's still. I tried standing near the door, and praising her and taking the toy from her when she's bringing it that way anyway, and stepping further away from the door, but she keeps putting them down right by the door. Someone said not all breeds play fetch as well as others. I'm not sure what type of mix she is, but she has the appearances of german shepherd and rotweiller. Any further suggestions are welcome. I'd love to be able to throw the ball at the park for her. thanks

It turns out my water is hard...whatever that means, and pet owner says I need to put 3 teaspoon of water conditioner in the tank...But I got a really small tank...about 6 litres of water... my tank measure: 29x17x12cm /1000=6L

The package says to add 2ml for 10 L....so that means I should add 0.2 ml of water conditioner?

How much is 0.2ml? would that be equivalent to a tiny drop?
