Doesn't she realize that ALL purebred dogs came from breeding different types of dogs to come up with what the breeder wanted, and that two purebred dogs of different breeds will make a mutt? To me,and a lot of other dog lovers,a dog is a dog is a dog.I love them all, purebred or mutt, and I have both - all rescues or former strays, and yes, people throw away purebreds everyday,so I don't know why she thinks she's so high and mighty for breeding purebreds, and puts down those of us who own mutts. She may be a responsible breeder, but can she prove that none of the puppies she has sold have ended up on the streets or in a dog pound,or contributed to the mutt population by mating with a dog of a different breed? And how many of you agree that all dogs are created equal, and a mutt is every bit as good and deserving of a good home as any purebred?

Semolina's Pointer, yes she does hate them .Every time someone mentions that they have one,or that people should rescue dogs from shelters, she'll say that mutts are piles of s*it,or call them some other derogatory name. She really does hate them, and I don't understand how,if she's a dog breeder, she can hate ANY dog.

cloverspirit,I think it's wrong to breed "designer dogs",too.Puggles were all the rage just a year ago,and now the shelters and pounds are full og them.if a person wants a mixed breed, which is what "designer dogs" are, then they should peruse their local shelters to find something close to what they want.

animal -artwork,You are correct, and I should say that MOST purebreds came from crossing other breeds.I know that the Samoyed is a "naturally pure" breed, and I believe the Basenji and the Carolina dog are as well.I'm sure there are more, but I'd have to look them up!

Brownisesusan has the stupidest answers I've ever heard and is just plain rude, immature and quite frankly, a loser.

I don't hate mixed breed dogs, as I own one myself... lol I suppose you are refering to the "designer breeds"? I don't hate the dogs themselves but the people who keep breeding mutts while thousands of other mutts are being put to sleep on a daily basis make me go nuts. --- The example you give happens almost EVERY SINGLE DAY because of people who breed their mutts (or mixed breeds, whatever you'd like to call them). These people don't do half as much research as responsible, reputable breeders and usually give away the puppy to the first person that calls, without thinking twice if this person is going to neuter\spay the dog or even keep it for longer than two years... That's why most dogs in shelters are BYB bred dogs. Purebreds OR mutts. --- About what you say to Bell, we answer the question because we actually CARE about this. If we give true answers, no matter how much a slap in the face that might be for some, we are actually informing you. You may not want to take that information in the moment BUT you will think if it's really worth breeding\buying your mutt, whose only difference from a dog in the shelter that actually NEEDS a home, is a stupid made-up name.

Some people are that way. I have owned several nice purebreds and lots of nice mutts in my lifetime. I also breed AKC Yorkshire Terriers, I'd never tell my neighbor his dog sucks because its a Lab mix. The only problem I have with mutts is the designer dogs. Breeders keep raising them because people are dumb enough to buy them. Why buy a a mutt for $2000, when you can get one from a shelter for less then $100. I'm beginning to think common sense is a thing of they past.

I love mutts and we will always have mutts as long as there are stray dogs and irresponsible people around. Which I don't see change in those areas right now. All dogs do deserve a good home with caring owners. And yes you will find both purebred and mutts in shelters all across America so she needs to get a grip!

I don't recall any of her answers in particular but I do know that most people see a mixed breed and automatically think of it as being a nuisance etc because in the movies the mixed breed dogs are shown to be the homeless dogs rummaging through garbage cans causing all sorts of problems. I have a full blood Keeshond, full blood Great Dane, full blood Chihuahua and a pit/lab/shepard mix and they are all good dogs and all very sweet. I think it's all a matter of personal opinion which everyone is entitled to their own and if people disagree with it that's their choice too.

Tammy, When we bought our little Shih-poo 3 months ago, I was thrilled. I Knew that I wanted a small dog, one that did not shed, was smart, and easy to train. She is all of those things and so much more, and absolutely the greatest little dog. We have had all sorts of dogs: from dogs that were strays, to registered purebreds. I really could care less what anyone thinks about "designer"dogs. You are correct in saying, all dogs, no matter what their biological makeup is, are equally deserving of being loved, and being placed in good homes. Some of these people, the ones with their noses out of joint, must think that all their relatives stepped off the Mayflower! Guaranteed their dogs have better lineage then they do! EDIT: For all who make remarks about those of us who purchase "designer" dogs, as being stupid, please do not make blanket statements, when you have no idea of our background or level of education.

I haven't seen her answers so cannot comment on her "hatred". My guess would be that she hates irresponsible breeders in it for a buck.
However, I will take issue with your commentary that ALL breeds come from mixing various breeds. Do your research, there are several breeds that are foundation breeds for all the others.. Samoyeds being one of them.. they were not created, they evolved with humans.
All that being said, I have nothing against mutts... I've trained an awful lot of them. I do have things against irresponsible owners... and irresponsible breeders.

I have no idea about Susan, but are you sure she hates mixed breed dogs?
Or is it that she just hate breeders who indiscriminately breed anything with four legs?
Considering that there are millions and millions of dogs in the world, because we have too many idjot breeders everywhere, is it really fair to breed more dogs, when so many are euthanased?
People should stop breeding any dogs and pick up rescue dogs, UNLESS they have an outstanding dog whose general health, looks, confirmation to the standard, temperament etc. would be an enhancement of the breed. Then and only then should they breek from that dog. Just my humble opinion.

I haven't exactly seen any of her answers yet.. but she sounds like an idiot. We all know that mutts are no different then purebreds, except for the fact that thousands of them are being put down every day because of ignorant people like her.

i agree with you a dog is a dog and they should ALL be loved equally.... but i disagree with doo doo head "breeders" who create mixed breeds and sell them for as much as a pure breed and then tells the buyer that its a rare breed of dog.... like maybe the designer dogs out there... don't get me wrong i enjoy any dogs company but i don't agree with paying 2,000 dollars for a mix breed that is sold as a rare pure breed... but hey thats just me... lol this susan woman needs to get a life....i am positive the she isn't a pure breed person she is a mixed human and has all kinds of different blood backgrounds...
